If I think his offseason sucks I’ll say it at the end of the offseason I’ll give him the offseason before I pass judgment on it I’m not going to slam him over signing pozo and start comparing him to mo because he didn’t make a panic move and trade Donovan for the first offer just because he’s scared

If Bloom is as good as they say…..he should know the teams in play and what they have in their system. He should be the aggressor
Again the MO “waiting for market to materialize” is really “waiting for everyone to fills needs and losing options”

Our promising catching depth, a rare enough thing, represents a huge advantage in the trade market. Quite unusual.

Strategically approaching his free agency, and then re-signing Pozo made perfect sense. I was frankly surprised we had that opportunity, as his value seemed pretty clear-but the FO had this nailed. That seems to me to be a very good initial marker for Bloom.

IMO, Pages remains in the catching mix with Herrera, who IMO, has a lot to prove. Pitching staff loves Pages-only a fool would ignore that.

Pozo draws decent grades for his framing and has regularly posted strong caught-stealing rates in the minor leagues.

While Pozo isn’t going to jump to the top of the depth chart anytime soon, he’ll give the Cards some additional depth along with Jimmy Crooks, Ivan Herrera and Pedro Pages. Pozo has a full slate of minor league options, so if the Cards do add him to the 40-man roster, he can be shuttled freely between St. Louis and Memphis without first needing to be exposed to waivers.

Honestly I think the issue here is too many people here have PTSD from looking at the wreck and watching the “contractor” say “we need to let the wreck define itself” only for the contractor to down the road say “we like what we have” whilst staring at that same wreck.


And even though we got a new contractor, everyone is just sitting there begging the dude just to fix the f***ing kitchen, and get this painful process over with
