To the contrary...
This fits into my pipe dream nicely.
Yadi becomes manager in 2027, we go to the NLCS in 2028 and get to the WS in 2029.
Nothing TOXIC about it.
Message to Oli - Never hire your replacement.
This presumes that Oli is the one pushing for it. I think this is Bloom, and possibly DeWitt as well.

Why?
Molina's record with helping young catchers is abysmal.
That was then (when he was a player), this is now (when his job would be to coach or manage).

Yadi being a smart player and great baseball IQ does not translate into managerial success.

He also was very selfish late in his career and did not help his future replacements one bit, he basically stole 20 million his last year with his effort and time away from team

He needs to prove his worth and dedication to the team - bench coach, pitching coach, manage a minor league team.

He hasn’t earned a managerial job at all

Could be. This could be a big help. Molina understands the game. Perhaps after a year he gets the job and Marmol gets a job elsewhere in the organization.
Yeah. We’ve seen it before. Everyone who has played with Yadi calls him the smartest player they’ve played with or one of the. If he’s committed let’s do it.

Most high level catchers make good managers. Best two in the last 50 years Torre and Bochy were both catchers.

Mo did not seem to like baseball guys. Maybe he never pushed for this and Bloom doing it shows he's not afraid to let other smart people fill important roles.

Hey I never post, but I talked to Marmol about this a few months ago. Marmol is the one who requested Yadi join his staff.

I travel a lot for work and am often in the same hotel as the Cardinals because I try to coordinate my trips with when the Cardinals are in town and stay at the same hotel as them/go to the games.

A few months back I asked Oli about a lot of things and one was Yadi. Oli said he was hoping he could join the staff and said he asked him if he would be interested in joining his staff a bunch of times.

Oli was a really nice guy, answered a ton of questions, and I went from anti-Oli to pro-Oli.

I think that was 1/2 of it.
The other 1/2 is that Bloom asked him.

The question is did bloom ask him just for him to help or because he may replace oli with him after next season or because he wants to appease the fans upset he kept oli

You know my answer to this:
Yadi becomes manager in 2027, we go to the NLCS in 2028 and get to the WS in 2029.

Full time until it's time for a vacation in Puerto Rico.

Why would a guy with all the money he has want be a full-time coach under a no name like Marmol unless....?

Just what a team needs during a rebuild is a major distraction. If Bloom and BDW Jr. want Molina as manager, just do it. There is no need for on-the-job training from a guy who is training on the job.

If this happens, get ready for Peyton Place -- St. Louis.

Perhaps that is the strategy….the club knows the rebuild will be long and difficult…..so distract followers with a bone tossed to The People’s Temple..

No, not at all.
But this team will not be the team of 2007 2008 or 2009.
I have faith that Bloom will shake things up.

Well…..unlike some others, you understand that the current situation is player failures, not the manager..

Congrats on your wisdom…
