Interesting that some felt Walker wasn’t ready in his 2023 rookie season..
despite the open stance some complain about the guy played in 114 games and had a better batting avg. than BOTH Cards perennial stars Goldy and Nado. Walker.276 Goldy.268 Arenado.266
He had 51 RBI and…
Though some claim he only hit worm burners, the guy hit 16 home runs too. Guess all his hit balls were not along the ground.
It wasn’t Then team wanted launch angle changes.
And then the league found the holes….

I see the situation around Wetherholt as being more about clearing out in front of him.
He projects to be the starter at 2B in 2026.
Now:
What happens with Arenado?
If he goes it opens up 3B for Gorman or Donovan.
Donovan could also wind up in LF?
The OF is a crapshoot.
Need to use the balance of 2025 to decide what to do with Gorman, Arenado, Noot, Walker, etc

It will be interesting to see if some of those journeyman, AAAA type pitchers who have been around for awhile can find a weakness and if he will have a period where he has to struggle and adapt or if he's good enough now that MLB pitching is the only thing that is really going to pose a major challenge to him.

Best hitter in college baseball his final season
If he had a weakness, then it would've been exposed by now.
He's the REAL DEAL ronnie, this isn't one of Mo's overhyped (Walker, Gorman, Carlson) hitters.
Sure he'll struggle once he gets here but I'd put money on this kid making all-star teams.

His sophomore season perhaps, but certainly not his final season.

I honestly don’t expect much struggle once he arrives. I just expect that it’s 2026 unless there’s an injury opening. I don’t see Mozeliak trading Donovan or Gorman at the deadline.
