lol how would he have a strong case? They suspended him same as they do a lot of domestic abusers
I assume Melville is alluding to the fact that he was suspended based on fraudulent claims.
That is irrelevant to a suspension for the domestic violence. It wasn’t proven until later it was fraudulent claims so that’s pretty dumb to say in hindsight that that means he has a lawsuit he was suspended based on the intimation at the time which is the policy
How is him being suspended based on fraudulent claims irrelevant when it’s the entire point?
They didn’t know they were fraudulent when they suspended him. Baseball doesn’t wait until there is a trial and conviction to suspend people so zero chance he can win that dumb lawsuit
So you agree, then, that he effectively got kicked out of baseball and lost his earning power based on fraudulent claims against him.
That’s literally all that I’m saying, and I think that’s what Melville is referring to.
Pretty sure it was bc he objectively beat the [shirt] out of a woman, it came out that he regularly does that to get off (which he has never denied), there were multiple allegations and it was a huge public scandal.
The only thing "fraudulent" was the issue of consent, the rest of the above is completely non fraudulent.
How is it possible that after all this time, you still believe this?
You’re saying that the woman who was indicted on felony fraud and extortion related to this did NOT make fraudulent claims?

He was suspended without pay for 2 seasons.
That is actual loss.
He can also make the claim that he was blackballed from gainful employment after the suspension ended.
And all without cause.
In all states - including 'right to work" states - there are minimum cause thresholds which must be met, and which protect the rights of employees.
I do not pretend to know every aspect of Bauer's behaviors.
Nor am I in any way endorsing his character.
But, there is no question he has strong cause to sue MLB.
100% agree w/ the quoted material.
If you truly believe there was no collusion keeping Bauer out of MLB then you are delusional.

So..:if MLB owners collude to keep Trevor Bauer out of baseball, are NFL owners colluding to keep Colin Kaepernick out of the NFL?

Kapernick literally filed a grievance for collusion which was settled in 2019 with the NFL.

Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid settled their collusion grievance against the NFL for less than $10 million. The settlement resolved their claims that the league's teams colluded to prevent them from signing contracts due to their national anthem protests.

What is your theory?
Just wanting to make sure those who are angry about athletes who committed no crime being colluded against by sports leagues are consistent in that anger.

So essentially race baiting an argument.
Sorry you failed in your attempt.
Or “patriot-baiting,” but interesting that you jumped to race.

If he had a case for that after all this time, he'd have tried it by now.
Love that there's still this fascination with a pitcher who has been mediocre in (bleep) leagues the last couple years and is known to be an (donkey)(pit).

That’s rich, man. Jeezus.
There was photo evidence of the beating he gave her. He never even denied beating her. Why wouldn't I believe that he beat her and gets off on beating women, when its what multiple women have reported/shown, and he hasn't denied it?

Bauer was 17-9 in 2017
Bauer had a 2.21 ERA in 2018
Bauer won the Cy Young in 2020
Bauer had a 2.71 ERA in 2021, before that disgusting woman ruined his life.
Anyone pretending that he wasn't good, wasn't in a dominant period of his career... or that denies he was financially damaged to the tune of well over $100 million, if not $200 million, is so blatantly biased and stupid that they should never be taken seriously again.
He's white that's why he didn't get another chance ....however many others have beat their girlfriend or wife...shot at a gun at them etc...and was playing again...facts suck
lol if u think that’s the reason he’s not playing you aren’t too bright
Oh, then what about Barry Bonds--a better player who happens to be Black--not get picked up after investigation? So him being White is irrelevant
