As one of his biggest detractors, I must admit that he's making me eat my words, up to this point. If it continues then I would be up for a reunion, I guess. He's pitching like a number 1-2 right now. But, the season is long and fraught with peril. LOL
He’s had a fortunate run here of late but don’t let that fool you into believing he’s pitching like a 1 or 2.

He has a .180 BABIP against in May with a 4.64 FIP / 4.90 xFIP. Thats way more in line with his 4.66 ERA in the first month than his 2.01 ERA in May.

Nice to see him getting good results. I’d view it as unsustainable.
Yep. Not many Ks and lots of rockets hit at defenders. He's been more than a bit lucky.

Be happy he's pitching well and hope it lasts until mid season when he can be traded and replaced by McGreevey. And despite stupid hot takes by Blojo Johnson and others, he ain't getting another contract from the Cardinals

But seriously tho, this is one of the best defense teams in mlb.

Is it a big problem he doesn’t K a lot of hitters?

There have been a lot of good posts on this thread. It seems to me that for whatever reason, he has been pitching very well to contact this year. With a good defense behind you, that's an effective plan of attack. Then, when he needs it, he can reach back and go for the strike out. Keep up the good work!

Nooooo! This is his last season as a Card. No mas! Trade him at the deadline if you can
Most likely, but if he pitches any where near like he's pitching now and can be had cheap, well, you never have enough pitching as they say.
Yeah, no... he'll be 37.5
A lot of pitchers last until 40 or more. Fact is, if he pitches like this, I don't care if he's 80. If he pitches good and the price is competitive then I'm in.

Correct sir. He’s at his highest value ever. If Bloom is worth his weight in gold this could be a great start.

I had an amusing thought about a person or two earnestly recommending we re-sign Mikolas based on his recent performance, but I considered it too far-fetched too mention... let that be a lesson I guess that there is literally no bottom to the CT pit of dumbness.

Recency bias and unsustainable stats are the pillars of their argument.

Keep it up Mikolas

Build that trade value and for gosh sakes waive that NTC!

You're savior Mo is gone in a few months, most likely BDWJr has taken all contract decisions away from him and you're not getting another undeserved extension!

Waive it Lizard King

There is a problem though. No market. Mik value at an all time high. Which contending team needs a solid number three, and is willing to part with value to attain it.

I found only three teams who might have interest- Indians, Yanks, and Giants.

The yanks and Indians sit good enough to trade but not offer their best. Giants might be a little more desperate.

Not much to get.

If he'd waive the NTC, then I think he'd be easy to move BDog.

The cost in late June/July wouldn't be a problem for a team like the Dodgers (seem to lose a starter a week), Yankees, ect.........

No John Smoltz like return but perhaps a prospect that makes it to MLB?
