It's almost always better to be lucky than smart. In the short term, anyway.
Preferable to be both smart and lucky.
More of the former produces more of the latter.
In the long term. In the short term, sometimes luck holds all of the cards.

It was bizarre a manager put himself in that position

A 245 pound catcher has no business at 2B
