Shady wrote: 05 Mar 2025 14:41 pm So, are you doubters still convinced Roddery Munoz doesn't have much going for him? Like, myself, Horton speaks positively in what he sees in Roddery Munoz.
He's pitched a grand total of 3 innings.

Please stop.

Shady wrote: 27 Feb 2025 16:26 pm Sixth starter, long relief maybe. Why did the Marlins waive him? He's young, throws hard and has good stuff. Any chance he could challenge for the #5 spot in the starting rotation?
Also fun fact. Thisnis the 4th time hes been waived. He was originally a brave, was waived by them, claimed by nationals, waived by them, claimed by pirates, waived by them, claimed by marlins, who now waived him.

Odnt get too excited about a guy being dfa'd 4 times and 5+ xareer minor league era having an okay spring outing. Maybe he becomes something late bloomer but hes far from challenging for a rotation spot
MO's kind of acquisition.
bye bye MO after this season
NO ONEwill miss you aside from Oli

From what I gather, Munoz might be in consideration for short relief (ex. 1 inning). Focus was mentioned as a factor. Whatever that means. He is fairly young, with some MLB experience and a big arm. He has a chance to help the Cardinals in some capacity. IMO

Why? Im guessing his 6.53 era factored in. As well as his career 5.01 minor league era and 5.48 era in 2 years at AAA. Spring means nothing. This guy has gotten rocked by upper level competition
Munoz had 17 starts for Miami last season. And they had a good rotation. That seems like quite a lot of starts considering his record and ERA.
they had a horrendous rotation

He might reliably hold down the same role he had with us last season.

The garbage heap with every other piece of low hanging fruit that Mo has acquired.

It could be an important outing today for Munoz. In his bid to make the team. He's been impressive in spring training with the strikeout ability and the 0.00 ERA.

I don't expect him to make the team, but I'm happy to see them sign a pitcher with a good arm and potential instead of a pitch to contact guy.

The Cards seem to be in good shape with the LH side of the BP with Romero/Libby/King.
RH side more in question.
Obviously Helsley and Fernandez would appear to be a lock.
That would leave 3 spots all most likely RH.
Munoz certainly has a shot.

I see that Munoz maintained his lofty 0.00 ERA in one inning of work today. He had a nice slider going. He may have a good chance at a short relief role for the Cardinals. It seems like he was a very nice waiver pickup for Mo.

This article is dated March 6, and was written prior to his last outing, which you bumped this thread over yesterday.

Furthermore, it simply states the obvious (he’ll be a reliever) and acknowledges he has options remaining and may not make the opening day roster.

Where is the “update?”
