They also went 3-0 last year and didn't win...sh...well much of anything. But I am enjoying them this year.

Even one game w/M. Winn at clean-up is a joke.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑29 Mar 2026 11:38 am2 games ..rockondlouie wrote: ↑29 Mar 2026 10:43 am THX CK
Oli's going to stick w/Winn at clean-up (0 RBI's---.111 .111 .222 .333) no matter how clueless it makes him look, the definition of insanity.![]()

I'd say K. Cash is a pretty sharp Manager, one of the best in MLB for a long time.ramfandan wrote: ↑29 Mar 2026 11:52 amOli has 5 players to choose from for cleanup .rockondlouie wrote: ↑29 Mar 2026 10:43 am THX CK

JJ leadoff, he wants Herrera , and Burly 2 & 3 as you want your best hitters to potentially get to the plates the most times so he won't mess with that trio .. then Scott is locked in at 9 only.
So today that leaves Saggese , Pages, Walker, Urias , and Winn as his choices for the 4th spot. Winn is no sure thing but Oli must feel that the other 4 aren't a better threat from that group.
His best hitter, where has he been batting?
J. Caminero----clean-up.
Herrera in the #2 is a waste (and please, don't regurgitate that stupid theory about the best hitter batting 2nd, teams like the Angels have used this stupid move and wasted a great talent like M. Trout's career), he needs to be hitting clean-up.
Wasting Herrera's RBI potential (least we forget he's got J. Walker, P. Pages and VSII setting the table

Untwist the panties, 2 games in
I guess someone had to be 5th, doesn't make him a clean-up hitter in any managers lineup other than your pal Oli.

If Scott can continue to find ways to get on base…..he and JJ at the top would be perfect….set up Herrera and Burlyrockondlouie wrote: ↑29 Mar 2026 12:13 pmI'd say K. I hope VSII does just that, he'd steal 50-60+ bases if he could put up a .325+ OB%.Goldfan wrote: ↑29 Mar 2026 12:20 pmIf Scott can continue to find ways to get on base…..he and JJ at the top would be perfect….set up Herrera and Burlyrockondlouie wrote: ↑29 Mar 2026 12:13 pmI'd say K. Love seeing his hard work this spring working on his bunting pay off, those sac bunts are gold putting RiSP for JJW.

Cardinals won opening day in Houston 14-3, Forsch beating Ryan. Cards lost the next two, going 1-2 in opening series. Did have a 12 game win streak in April. Finished 92-70.Goldfan wrote: ↑29 Mar 2026 12:19 pmThey came out of the gate rolling in ‘82sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑29 Mar 2026 12:01 pm Tidbit. Best Cardinals starts to a season.

I dont get the fascination with the cleanup spot in the order. Herrera is getting more opportunities than Winn. Winn hitting .111 Hererra hitting .127. The cleanup position lead off innings twice yesterday. Its like complaining about who hits 6th. The Cards dont have the prototype cleanup hitter of years past. Winn isn't, but neither is Hererra.Goldfan wrote: ↑29 Mar 2026 11:20 amWhat’s the fascination here????? The first 4-5 pages of the GDT every game are complaining about the batting order and saying Oli should be fired for said order. Just move past it until the game starts.RamFan08NY wrote: ↑29 Mar 2026 12:30 pmI dont get the fascination with the cleanup spot in the order. Herrera is getting more opportunities than Winn. You won’t believe this statement but, back in the day, to enter CT meant doing so on your best behavior. A place to talk only Cardinal baseball. They weren’t rules per se, but an understanding of conduct.cardinalsfever44 wrote: ↑29 Mar 2026 12:41 pmThe first 4-5 pages of the GDT every game are complaining about the batting order and saying Oli should be fired for said order.
