I like this one. The team has done nothing but rave about JJs make up and how he has a confidence about him I don’t see him being a victim of pressure just because he’s leading off. But oli will probably be dumb and use Wynn

But The Marmot likes to play head games with players.
Herrera at catcher on opening day to continue the pretense that he is under consideration for the role?
Thereby allowing Velazquez at DH, which is his best position.
Allowing for Church or Saggese in LF.
Then again, The Marmot will doubtless rely on head-to-head career matchup history for each STL player against Rasmussen - even if there are just one or two plate appearances to rely upon.

He'll likely do something stupid like hitting JJW 6th while leading off w/M. Winn (huge failure hitting lead-off).

Have to disagree 100% though, I. Herrera is a slam dunk at DH (unless you want him catching....YIKES!).

Agree Herrera should be a slam dunk at DH.
Also agree the only appropriate response to the notion of him catching is "yikes" - since other applicable words would not be permitted here.
However, The Marmot does want Herrera to believe he is being given yet another opportunity - even though any such messaging would be disingenuous.

I do like Church at LO. A lot. I didn't put him there for 2 reasons. Oli and what it does in the L/R thing, it pushes the lineup up a spot with the Cardinals thought.

IMO, JJ is the only LO candidate that if he doesn't bat LO could still land in the top half of the lineup. The others are either LO or bottom third.
Also IMO Winn, regardless of his lineup splits, belongs in the lower third until he shows otherwise. He is just too average of a hitter to be anywhere else. Ì know you put him #9. Just seems destined to be VS or Church spot.

I think we see Herrera as catcher opening day unless injured. I think DH should be his position this season. Maybe in left or 1B later in career. He has not played there this spring so maybe next year
