LOL. You might be right, then again it's all WILD speculation. First of all, Army hasn't traded Thomas. Second, trade rumors have floated in the media or blogs about every Blues veteran. Third, Thomas is is under team control on a very reasonable contract, and the team is not cap constrained. Fourth, he's injured. Need I go on?hockey jedi wrote: ↑16 Jan 2026 12:47 pm If he's just injured, why is his name being brought up in trade rumors? This isn't the typical media projections. These are rumors broadcasted by credible and connected media. Army's not going to trade his top center unless there is a deeper underlying problem. I just wanted to see what other posters opinions and knowledge were. When Fabbri and Eddy were hitting the bars, several posters on this forum knew it was a problem for Blues management.

Maybe Army's just trying to send a message to the team that he will trade anyone to make the team better. I know that Army hasn't come out to say he's not trading Thomas, or that Thomas is untouchable in response to the media from the national media. The Thomas trade talk isn't broadcasted from fan forums like STL Today or Hockeybuzz, but from Pierre Labrun, Elliotte Friedman and EJ Hradek types. Rumors about Jordan Kyrou and Binner aren't being talked about in the national media.
Re: What is going on internally with Thomas?
I don't think they are actively trying to trade Thomas, but are teams calling asking about him knowing we want serious changes while having discussions about other players - i bet so.
Would Army be doing his due diligence in listening in case someone were to offer something outrageous - i bet so.

Re: What is going on internally with Thomas?
I dont think Thomas gets traded but this is the first season I have entertained the idea. I simply am tired of him pouting and looking up into the rafters everytime something doesn't go his way. He was supposed to be the C after Schenn who is all but gone... Thomas isn't ready for that role I wonder if it eats at home like it did Vladi.
I think they are listening on him it would just take a Substantial offer to come to fruition..

Repetition is neither validation nor credibility.
And I guess it's human nature 2026 that the worst and negative are presumed. Perhaps what's "wrong" (if that is even true) with The Thomas is that he's exhausted from volunteering too much at food banks, that he is caring for an ailing neighbor or family member, etc.

Re: What is going on internally with Thomas?
I believe that the better question is what is going on internally with Army...
Feb 2025 (Rumblings from Army)
1. We've changed out everything except the players that have been here the longest. It's time to change out our longest-held players if things don't improve.
2. Our best players are being outplayed by the other team's best players.
3. On too many nights, our best players duck-egg, especially when the games mean the most.
Jan 2026 (Rumors about Army)
1. Our best players are being outplayed by the other team's best players. Where have we heard this before?
2. Everyone is on the trade block.
Based on what I see, I believe that Army and Thomas are fed up with each other. A happy separation is inevitable at the earliest possible time.

LOL. Army was in his GM box the other night. I seriously doubt Thomas spends time dwelling on his relationship with Army, he's not even close to negotiating an extension and there were clear better choices for the Olympic team.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑16 Jan 2026 17:22 pm I believe that the better question is what is going on internally with Army...

hockey jedi, I know as much about The Thomas' life as you.
We differ in that I can speculate the positive, rather than the negative.

St. Louis, MO is the best U.S. city for single people
St. Louis took the No. 1 spot on the list. Median rent for a one-bedroom apartment in the city is $1,000 and about half of the population is single.
“It [St. Louis] has a rare combination of affordability, nightlife and entertainment options per capita. All of that combined really offers an appealing and social opportunity for singles,” Chen says.
The city ranked in the top five nationwide for nightlife and entertainment options.

It's a wonder any team from New Orleans or Las Vegas has ever won anything then.BleedingBleu wrote: ↑18 Jan 2026 17:23 pmSt. Louis, MO is the best U.S. city for single people

Re: What is going on internally with Thomas?
In all seriousness, Thomas has suffered some monster is hits and has to be helped off or looked in severe distress leaving on his own. Let's not forget he landed on his face just a week or so ago and came back to play.
I think he's getting some much needed physical therapy and healing.
There's been quite a few times when he's dazzled with stick handling and puts a perfect pass to a player and they miss the shot.
He looks frustrated and should be.
