No kidding. This is one funny thread. Chefs kiss with a Rattie and Bokk mention.

Whatever he turns out to be , I see him as a future whipping boy here. He’s a goal scorer, he’s never going to be a defensive stalwart…that won’t fly over well here on blues talk. I mean why would we want a goal scorer to focus on scoring goals. Hitch…as much as I loved him, did a lot of damage here
He did. To Tarasenko especially. Guy would’ve been a 50/60 goal scorer consistently if they actually put him with players somewhat similar and skill and didn’t insist on a 200 foot game.

It’s not all Hitch’s fault though. For some reason, unless it’s Albert Pujols, this town hates raw talent. They prefer the lunch pail guys to the guys blessed by god.
I’m ok with the blue collar lunch pail guys…you need them to win but I’m also a firm believer in letting players do what they do best. Gallant was the best coach at that or at least had the best ideas, if some guy is lacking with two way ability, let him play his game and tweak the game plan and system to cover his deficiencies
You know, I really hated watching the Blues win all those games under Hitch, hated seeing them in the playoffs. Hated watching Tarasenko and Fabbri play.

I really hated watching Unger, Federko, Pettersson, Mullen, Hull, Oates, Shanahan, Demitra . . .
Loved Hitch…he was a great coach but once we got the playoffs we just couldn’t score the timely goal.

Agreed.

I wasn’t trying to (bleep) on lunch pail guys. They almost always come in clutch in the playoffs. I also agree that this organization needs to let the grinders grind and the scorers score.

Why are you so concerned about other peoples opinion.
You complain more about other posters. Then they and me complain about the blues.

Gives me big loser vibes.
Why are you so concerned with my opinion? You have big loser vibes because you're a huge [fork]ing loser.

He’s scored 25 goals in 27 games so I’d say goal scoring is still pretty high on his to do list.

You simply cannot TEACH someone to score goals.
Either you can or you can't....
He sounds like he's saying and doing the right things.

I'm still shocked that he wasn't deemed good enough to play for Canada in the World Juniors.
You'd be surprised what you can teach with today's technology.

That’s not the same guy is it? The old guy had a 2 at the end of his name. Just like the new “Iowa” isn’t the same guy as before

You do NOT win championships playing the "Other way".

Hey #25! Yeah...you, on IR.....can to read something for us?
Thanks.
When you say #25, you mean the player who lead the Blues last year in plus/minus? Too bad stats don’t match your narrative. Mic drop…..

You don't remember basic details. Kyrou played at his usual sludge level of compete until they cut SAAD (who plays very very much like Kyrou, huh?) , Texier flunked his audition for the Second Line opening, and Dylan "The Firecracker" Holloway was promoted. Holloway showed Kyrou up close and personal what a fiery compete from a guy with comparable skills and LESS size can do....
He showed Kyrou the way and might have even shamed him into playing honest and "Relentless" Ice Hockey.
When Kyrou lost him ... he lost that compete. And he has yet to find it again, on any line with any linemate, including Holloway- who probably puked in his mouth watching Kyrou ice dance through the playoffs... from his hospital bed.

seattleblue wrote: 27 Dec 2025 12:31 pm Best thing I have read related to the Blues in awhile.

You know I coveted Carbo for his ability, not only does he have something you cannot teach, he has something you cannot unteach. He is saying "F the aspect I have on lockdown ... BECAUSE I WILL ALWAYS HAVE IT ... "

He utterly needed this shift of attention. This is exactly what we all want to see, EXTRA DIMENSIONS. He isn't going to lose the goal scoring, you can't take it out of him, it's a given. Extra dimensions aren't coming at the expense of goal scoring with Carbo.

He has powerful attention. He's saying: "I am a competitor first and foremost. The most efficient thing to do was assign me goal scoring because anything I'm assigned I will do, to win."
+1

Can't see a thing in those remarks to find fault with. What it amounts to is a drive for excellence. What a great pick he is, will likely prove to be.
