The only open spots for an offensive upgrade is of course in the OF.

-1st Base WillyC (A. Burleson if Willy's dealt)

-2nd Base JJW

-SS M. Winn

-3rd base N. Gorman (NADO but odds strong he's dealt. Not ideal but no way you want Saggese at 3rd base)

-C Pages, Crooks, Pozo, ect........................

I hope C. Bloom can find a veteran OF but not holding my breathe since the FA market is thin.

The Sonny Gray trade was a good bet. If May plays well, we might be able to flip him at the deadline for a top prospect.
The Cardinals haven’t truly tried to win since LaRussa left, and I believe that is why he left, because he knew they were going to change the way they operated. Mo always stopped short of one or two players that everyone could see was still needed.

He left because he retired from managing.

He wasn’t done with baseball…..BDW/MO showed TLR their amazing PLAN for the future and he wasn’t in it. THEY were going to guide the team to glory with cheap controllable managers…..have you been watching??

TLR retired from managing.

If he had any ambitions for a major FO role, that position wasn’t available in STL since Mo was here. You can’t have two POBOs…
