Yes, that would make more sense. But some bozos on here cant pass up the opportunity to throw politics into the forum. And notice the moderators haven't been quick to lock the thread.
The thread has a lot of anti incumbent comments….

If it was predominantly pro incumbent…it would have been history long ago…
Exactly. With 10 day suspensions.
This was not meant to be political at all. If you and him want to make it that...it's on you. Merely observing the circumstances between our countries and what might or might not happen.
bull[shirt]. Its clearly a political thread. Maybe not intentionally targeted at a particular party (doubtful), but has political implications.

And why did you call 45s and I out in regards to trying to make it political? Read some of the other replies. Those went out of the way to make it political. 45s and I just pointed out the politics and ramifications.
I posted the reality of the situation with the question if they will be invited or if they will go, you guys made it political. I didn't favor any party. Why do some whine so loudly about victimization? Like calling out the mods. Why? Can't you just speculate if Torotnto will or won't go to the Whitehouse without you being offended and whining?
Im not offended by your post. But I find it odd you are calling me out for making it political. Read some of the other posts. Way beyond anything I posted. And posted before my reply. But yeah, its just me.

All I did was point out that other posts containing political comments have been locked and bans issued.

Stop with the political ramifications. The thread was only about the realistic premise of whether or not they would accept an invitation if they win, or in fact even get an invitation. You all are trying to warp the thread into some political statement. Stop it.

You can’t be this naive. If your answer is “I’m not and I’m sticking to my guns” there’s simply no point in debating this

I'm not debating this with you or anyone else. I simply asked ....considering the animosity between our two countries....would Toronto be invited and/or would they go. Try to make it political if you want but it's not. If two countries were at war, would they still recognize and/or invite the champion to visit their leader? Admittedly we are not... at war with Canada. But they have been insulted and bullied... and have taken great offense to it. Now, answer the frigging question or step off.

Firstly, I wasn't responding to just you. Secondly, if they are locked, banned, or whatever....that's up to the mods and I don't think they should be attacked for trying to keep a baseball forum to baseball subjects. We do know the reasons for the animosity but I did not bring them up because I wanted to stay away from the political third rail so prevalent. Boilded down to simplicity is the base question...Would Toronto be invited and would Toronto accept. Then some you start whining about the moderators and how you're unfairly treated. bccardsfan wrote: 01 Nov 2025 13:45 pm Folks. It has nothing to do with who is in the White House. Look at it this way. If an American team wins the Stanley Cup do they go to Ottawa to meet the Prime Minister? NO. If a Canadian baseball team wins the WS, they may or may not go to Ottawa, but they certainly don't go to the White House. It just isn't that big a deal here in Canada as it is there. No politics involved. If they go anywhere, it would be to Ottawa.
I understand what you’re saying. I would certainly understand a Canadian-based team being invited to Ottawa. However, I don’t know that that should also preclude a parallel invite to the White House as MLB is headquartered in the US and is composed of primarily US teams. As a citizen of the US I’d hope we’d be gracious enough to invite any champion of a US based league, regardless of the occupant of the White House.
...and if invited, I would hope a Canadian team would accept, but these are rather tense political times and I honestly don't know what would happen. Will be interesting to see should the Jays prevail tonight. I was just pointing out that such things are not as big a deal in Canada as in the USA. I spent my first 32 years in the USA so I know the culture. I have spend the last 36 in Canada, so I know this one. This is a very different country with different cultural norms, and that is all I was pointing out. Thanks for the polite discourse on your end:)
Oh, of course! I knew what you were getting at. I was expressing my hope that my country would display some class despite everything that’s going on. Could we at least put politics aside to celebrate a champion? It doesn’t seem that much to ask.

And I am not whining about any action the moderators have taken towards me. Just pointing out what ive noticed in the past. Others on here have noticed the same.

But to answer your question, had Toronto won, it'd been more appropriate for them to meet with the Prime Minister. Since they are in Canada.
