Spot on

Don’t underestimate HackGate either, there was some nefarious back room dealing with Manfred to save BDW and Mo, lone wolf theory never passed the smell test
I agree it seemed fishy that one underling was able to do this without anyone knowing. What do you think it took to keep him quiet?
Fair, however, I’ve never understood the scenario under which the Feds would have overlooked this. I would guess they knew everything there was to know, and if things went higher, why wouldn’t the FBI have indicted everyone? Why would they have let BDW and Mo off the hook? That never made sense to me.
$$$$$$. The answer to most questions.
Are you implying the Feds were bought off by BDW/MLB/some combination thereof?

Okay, Riff Raff. How about this. The “Putz” was named MLB Executive of the Year in 2011. What a “Putz”.

That brand of baseball ended when the Cardinals hired LaRussa. He wanted power hitters.

I didn't call him a putz. That's Juan who has Mo so far up his (donkey) that it'll take a team of surgeons to extract him not to mention the years of therapy that will be required just to get him back to semi normal. If he's ever been normal that is.

You on the other hand slobber on Mo's nob so incessantly you may never be the same.
Good luck to the both of you saying the same [shirt] over and over and over.

Well guess who chaired the committee that got Manfred on board as commissioner. That would be BDW.

Also, if Mo shared with BDW the nefarious hacking that he and others knew about, BDW is immediately complicit at that very point.

Mo had BDW by the short hairs for the last decade.

BDWJr was asleep at the wheel allowing Mo to destroy the franchise, should've been fired years ago.

(And yes, I put the blame of BDWJr years ago in multiple threads I started for not doing so).
Mo should have been fired years ago. Instead they created a new position and a promotion for Mo. President of Baseball Operations. He was still acting as the GM while there is / was a GM put in place and never heard a peep out of him.

I have been anti-Mo the longest on here, but people ignore a massive smoking gun that shows the hacking was not an organizational doing but instead a lone individual with a vendetta against Luhnow.

If this was a Mo thing the was far dumber than anyone thought he was.

The story came to light as Luhnow’s trade notes were handed to Deadspin to publish. Why would an organization hack a team then hand the evidence over to deadspin to publish?

People always forget the files being handed over to Deadspin.

I wonder how much of a hand Tony LaRussa had in pulling the trigger on flipping Colby Rasmus for bullpen reinforcements, SP depth and a veteran outfielder: Dotel, Rzepczynski, Jackson and Patterson. Hindsight being 20/20, it almost looks/feels like Mo made sure it was the last time someone told him what to do. We’ll never know for sure.

One thing we do know is Chris Correa did 4 years in Federal Prison for hackgate. Pretty wild to think about.
