Take a look at the sad sack teams vying for the third wild card. They're all bad and severely lacking. The Mets have no pitching. The Reds have no hitting. Arizona does not have enough pitching and has big holes in the lineup. These teams are an argument against even having a third wild card. They are not worthy. Yet MLB seems intent on adding even more wild cards. Oh boy.

Personally, I have little interest in a "playoff" team that gets swept out of the first round yet again

Few things:
1. Actually, one could look at this as a good thing since the team didn't do a thing, but are still around .500.
2. There are definitely times when you go for, at least, the Wild Card. Depending on how the division is, trying to get a WC spot is not settling.
But this 2025 team isn't one of those times you try 'going for!' the Wild Card...
