3 runs on 7 hits TOTAL between what would have to be two of the dullest teams last night. Hope the fans who attended got what they paid for! At least it's cooler out now.

Doyle could be too TP.todd-parker wrote: ↑28 Aug 2025 09:02 amAnd, other than JJ Wetherholt, what prospect or minor leaguer is anyone excited to see get called up?rockondlouie wrote: ↑28 Aug 2025 08:49 am There's no speed on this team outside of VSII (and please, no one mention M. Winn as he's a terrible base stealer).
There's no power on this team outside of N. Gorman.
There's only one starting pitcher who can give them consistently decent starts and that's S. Gray but only if it's not 100 degrees.
The pen' has been the only real shining unit, they've been very solid.
Oli is the most unimaginative Manager, second only to M. Matheny.
Mo checked out months ago.
The Dewitt's quit on the team before spring training even opened.
Sad season indeed.![]()
But other than that, well we have to hope some of the players they got in this seasons sell-off pan out.
The good news is the C. Bloom player development system is now fully in place and by the updated rankings our farm system is rising!

Not much excitement among the Cardinal fans right now. Kinda makes them dull.

Feel lately I'm trending toward becoming more of a fringe Card fan now than really being into it on a daily basis, like I am with the Illini and the KC Chiefs, but also feel the Cards aren't necessarily that far away, with a chance to be a playoff team as soon as next year if things go decently.
As far as dullest, IDK, but was disappointed the other day (it must have been the 2-1 loss to the Pirates) with Church on 1B and 1 out. Why wasn't he given the signal to try and steal 2B? It's possible that if he would have stolen successfully he would have scored later on in that inning on a SF but instead ended up being stranded. What is there to be afraid of?
The Brewers are showing a pathway for the more fiscally limited teams to compete better.

A good Cardinals win but this shot from the P-D sports page says a lot about how many didn't show up today:
