I saw them last year. Amazing. The fan experience is the future of baseball.dugoutrex wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025 14:34 pmyou should have checked out the Savanah Bananas a few weeks agodesertrat23 wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025 14:19 pmYep. The whole experience just felt vibrant. Petco is older than Busch by a couple of years but feels newer and cleaner and more modern. The game experience was incredible — live music, fun memes on the scoreboard, City Connect uniforms that were designed to excite the fans, not do just enough to not alienate the old-timers. The place was full of young adults and families, not blue hairs keeping score. It felt like the 21st Century.rockondlouie wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025 13:48 pmThat plus Peller's wheeling & dealing makes for exciting the fan base.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025 12:03 pm That's interesting. No. If its so horrible, why do you punish yourself?peterman'srealitytour wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025 11:51 amSuch a butt hurt, “you can take your ball and go home” response.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025 05:18 am So become a fan of that little ser organization. No one will care or miss you.![]()
If it’s so good, why is attendance cratering? It sure is and those who can't understand that are fools.russellhammond wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025 11:52 amAnd that, my friend, is the problem.desertrat23 wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025 11:36 amNobody cares about history. For comparison, including this season, there have only been three seasons in the last 21 that the Cardinals HAVEN'T drawn 3 million and only 4 times in the past 26 seasons. If you are going to compare the Cardinals with another MLB team at least choose one that ha573-303-7844 5s a history of success and fan support. The Padres have neither.
Again, explain this to me. Is “the problem” that nobody cares about history, or that we’re talking about now? Constantly looking backward is what’s gotten this organization in the rut it’s in now. You want more of that?11WSChamps wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025 08:40 amIt sure is and those who can't understand that are fools.russellhammond wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025 11:52 amAnd that, my friend, is the problem.desertrat23 wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025 11:36 amNobody cares about history. Winning and putting a competitive team on the field is the "history" of this franchise.desertrat23 wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025 08:43 amAgain, explain this to me. Winning is winning. Not gimmicks like guys pitching on stilts or a group of guys dancing at home plate after a run is scored. That stuff is great once or twice but being successful in the spirit of what competition is all about is what creates a lasting buzz for fans of the game.
The ownership lost sight of this when they turned over the first shovel of dirt for BPV and the slide has led them into a tunnel with no light that I can see.
Winning in the Cardinal tradition should never be looked at as being "backward".
Right now the "tradition" of winning is far away and I'm sure that's not the future you're talking about.desertrat23 wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025 12:10 pmWinning is winning.
