Well that doesn't answer my question and it was a down draft for top QB's.rezero wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025 13:49 pmCook was the 16th rated QB in this years draft and is currently on the Jets roster so not sure how he was rated in high school means much. Sure he overthrew a few balls and was injured in 3 of the games, but even in the games he was healthy, Moore did a poor job of getting Burden the ball.11WSChamps wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025 12:35 pm I'd like to hear from one of these experts how many teams won back to back double digit win seasons in the SEC or another "Power" conference with a QB who's best offer out of high school was from Austin Peay or some equivalent?
The idea is to win games.
They did that with the limitations of an off-injured QB who wasn't a projected 4-5 star guy.
if the team finished 7-5 last season but threw for 400-plus yards a game would you feel better?
Of course not.
If you do then your priorities are all screwed up.
The offense is 11-moving parts and a premier passing scheme needs that caliber of talent and those parts include coaching.
I'm not worried about one player getting his touches so some fans can puff out their chest about a particular player.
My barometer is wins and losses and how they get there doesn't really matter to me.
I said all season and the one before the passing game has to improve whether its scheme, talent or philosophy it has to be better for the team to get to an elite level.
But that doesn't mean the coaches don't know this or have to more explosive.
Cook had his limitations and the brain trust knew it and so did opposing D-coordinators and they knew Burden was a focal point. Not a great recipe for Luther getting a lot of downfield touches.
We know Horn has a bigger arm and Drinkwitz has mentioned Pribula throws better than advertised.
Lets see how it plays out.
