So who will be better him or Hernandez? No one cares when they are “ready” we need highest upside
In the cardinals case- I think it was more on who is cheaper than who has more upside
What evidence do you have that this kid is cheaper? Per other comments, Doyle threw a pretty packed SEC schedule. I don't think that he will pitch much this year.
Vegas, did you lose all gambling in Vegas?

So long as he keeps it to the guys in the other dugout? I don't care. We need a rusty nail. For once, I'd like to have a player that other teams absolutely hate*

Edit: *That isn't Miles Meatballs. Though, I'm sure they love him in their own way. In a very "this makes the back of my baseball card look good" way.
Yep but our hitters are liable to take the blunt of it since pitchers don’t hit. He needs to learn to channel it the right way. Hopefully he does.

I'm really interested to see if the new C. Bloom/R. Cerfolio team brings up players like JJW & now Doyle at a much faster pace than Mo.

Doyle is already better than A. Pallante, perhaps even Libby.

Let's hope he's dynamite in STing and forces his way onto the OD roster.

At worse he's only at Memphis a short while, kicks a z z and is here before Memorial Day.

He's lucky there's a DH now. He'd be a real target for opposing pitchers when coming to the plate.

Never saw Gibson go skipping off the mound after a strikeout.

I'm interested in seeing how aggressive they are, as well. That said, I do not see a world where this kid breaks opening camp with the 2026 club. Chase burns, who was equally as dynamite and much more polished didn't break camp

Absolutely. That’s why I don’t care if they draft high schooler or college I believe in these guys.

Bloom was quite a pitching coach in the past. All he is going to do is survey the scouting department which Mo has done in the past. That's it.

Too.bad rocko after starting at 2nd base didn't get drafted.

No skipping by Gibson but I did see Hrabosky behind the mound pounding ball into his glove with scowl on his face , spinning around as he stalked to rubber.
Most fans loved it .
Of course there is a line between intensity s d being disrespectful.

Wasn't Hjerpe projected as a fast mover also?
Anyway, just hoping for arm and shoulder health with Doyle, and if starting doesn't work out, hello Hader Jr.
But maybe just maybe, we got a better version of a LH throwing Lynn. That'd work.

The pitch clock eliminates that scenario I'd think.

Extra note on Doyle, he excelled in best conference SEC
Believe 34 of first 70 players picked were SEC kids.
So as a group he faced the best hitters.

You never know tlr

He's a 21 year old with two years of SEC (the best) ball under his belt.

If he kicks a z z this spring, then I see no reason he can't break camp.

Outside of St. Louis (Mo) there's also been a change as teams realize these pitchers only have so many innings in those arms before something goes wrong.

If they show they're ready, then up they come.

I hope this kid kick butt and forces his way into the OD rotation.

The pitch odometer on pitchers is interesting. Hicks and Rosenthal brought to MLB before more development of their secondary pitches. He needs to pitch in the minors and work on those, also get involved in some situations and see if he blows his cool in a minor league stage, not mlb stage . If he is doing pretty good , end of year call up. Also if somehow they were making the playoffs he could be the wainwright type call up, the extra dominant reliever that makes the difference. Then starting pitcher again the next season.
