old school, Maddux, whatever you call it, he was impressive. Good to see how much he credited Pages. Gave him the game ball. Class guy.
That gesture speaks volumes about the type player Sonny Gray is . He knew that ball would mean more to Pages than if he kept it himself.
In the post game interview he said the base hit was the only time he shook Pages off all night. Might be an exaggeration but a nice gesture nonetheless.
Just saw that! (I often have to watch the archived games due to work) That would be pretty wild, if true. Either way, classy move that Pages will remember fondly. Good team chemistry it seems.

Sonny Gray is only the third pitcher in MLB history to
throw a Maddux with over 10 strikeouts and less than two hits allowed.
Sandy Koufax (6/4/1964)
Chris Archer (8/20/2015)
Sonny Gray (today)
FANTASTIC OUTING BY SONNY GRAY
Did you really throw a Maddux if Greg wasn't even born when you pitched that game?

As if I have any control over that. I work on devices and systems in the medical command and my loyalties are to sick and rehabbing troops. Probably worked under some of your own bureaucrat heroes too though. Nice input.
