Sad, but one of them needs to get the big hit.

No it isn't dumb.... shirt. You as usual, are in the minority. It is possible to dissent politely and discuss, but you seem incapable of that. The manager and coaching staff sets a tone. Others have agreed that guessing on two strikes is stupid. Of course the players are responsible for ABs, but the manager and coaching staff set the tone of the team and to a great extent they help determine the personality of the team. When they were on the good streak they did all the little things like moving runners, and NOT striking out much. Marmol should have been totally in their ear when they started losing. Managers can make a difference and set expectations. Marmol is passive.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025 17:45 pmLoL. I think Brown has done a fine job, but they are straying from their successful approach. Marmol needs to instill the idea that the team is NOT going to K. They are going to have a strong two strike approach. There is a time to slug and a time to hit AND a time to guard the dish. The manager needs to stress this approach. I have been wanting Marmol gone since he blew the playoff series. It never happens. This team needs a much stronger manager. Yes, I know he wasn't swinging the bat, but managers do matter and we don't have a good one. Yes, they had a hot streak, but he is incapable of getting the most out of this limited roster. The Brewers are not that good. Rant over, but many of us are sick of Marmol and have been wanting him gone a long time.

I can assure you I have a thick skin. Just that most of us on here have grown very tired of your stale act. I am well aware of Brown's philosophy and alluded to it above. It is still up the manager to lay down the law and set direction for a team.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025 19:40 pmOh, did I hurt your wittle feelings? The players are responsible (bleep)
That's a hugely stupid statement and sentiment. Its not even a positive thought process to give or state to a ball player![]()
It's also stupid because players aren't going up there with the intention of striking out.
And FYI, the hitting approach comes from Brown, not the manager
On air, they've literally talked about his approach he coaches to...there's a time to slug and a time to make contact and shorten up.
I've noticed. But I guess oli has changed his rule abour effort running the bases? Tyler O'Neill was running a hell of a lot faster than what I saw from Winn today.Melville wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025 17:50 pmWinn in particular provided an egregious example.JuanAgosto wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025 16:38 pm Biggest difference i noticed was effort. Brewers hitters hustled down the line to beat a couple balls out and make a few other plays close. We have too many guys that jog down the line and are content to concede an out.
And it has become far too common with him.
Would have made far more sense to use Winn as the PH and then PH Pozo for Scott or Barrero.ramfandan wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025 18:33 pm Another sad thing that does not get mentioned much (and wasn't brought up in the 9th by Chip ) was after Arenado hit the single , he came out for Noot as the pinch runner. When Noot is our best pinch runner option in the final inning of a game , it shows a glaring lack of team speed.
Noot is an average runner (maybe ? slightly above but not what I would call a 'fast ' runner ) . Kinda sad when that is the team's best option on the bench.
Is there a relief pitcher in the pen that could outrun Noot ?
This
Giving the opposing pitching credit is what is usually missing in these threads.
It also gives Bloom one less reason to hold onto Oli for next season. Which to be brutally honest, Last thing this team needs is another no man’s land 83 win season that makes management think that Oli can build off of and be better next year. I know that’s a Mo toxic trait and he will be gone but best not take any chances until his stench is completely gonesimmonsmcgee1 wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025 16:40 pm Don't kid yourself, management is OK with every loss. It gives them more reasons to be sellers in July and they are also hoping that Arenado and Gray will agree to trades. I can see Helsley, Matz and Maton all having value at the trade deadline.
