The Cardinals can't move him fast enough. I appreciate him as a player, but if there's a suitor and an agreement from NA, then trade him for nothing.
And pay the freight to ship him.

I am not going to weigh in the principal subject, but…
Anyone on this thread who questions the value of Arenado’s defense is on drugs or should be. He is still elite in that category.

He's over the hill. Eventually, a GG third baseman is just not enough. He has to hit a lot more.
But who wants him unless the Cardinals pay almost all of his contract, and that ain't happening with BDW Jr.

Your repeated futile attempts to spread the myth that Arenado was traded are embarrassing, even for you.
A trade requires that the player be traded. Simple.
If there’s a no-trade clause or ANY other impediment to the ultimate movement of the player, it’s not a trade.
So quit with the constant attempts to say he was traded.
Melville is correct about Nado being traded. The Rockies traded him to the Cardinals years ago.
And the Rockies are laughing all the way....well, to somewhere.

Although, obviously, it should.

So his defense while still good, is a bit over rated by some imo. On the plays where he runs with the ball before throwing is not the way you'd teach it. It often results in the play being close at 1B making some think it's a plus play when you'd instead teach for the fielder to field, set your feet and throw the runner out by a couple steps, making the play look more routine. Also like the play when he fell into the stands, another 3B with better speed makes the play w/o as much momentum taking him into the net as hard if at all.
I think the Cards are stuck with Arenado, which doesn't have to be a bad thing, but it's not ideal for the team moving forward, and stalls the reset somewhat. Hoping Arenado can end up with a bWAR for the season somewhere around 2.0. It's slipped lately from around +1.1 to +0.8 in the last couple weeks or so as his bat has regressed.

Nado is probably the best 3B in Cardinals history. Nado is to the Cardinals what Brooks Robinson was to the Orioles. His hitting has fallen off, but he is a good fit for the 6th spot in the lineup.

No, he is not the best 3B in STL history - I can think of 2 or 3 who were better.
No, he is not the equivalent of Brooks to the O's - who led that team to 4 WS in 6 years (including 3 in a row), winning two.
No, he is not a fit for 6th in the lineup - or any other spot.

There are not but one or two better. There aren’t many. Rolen not hurt would be a solid choice.

The proper long range baseball move is to trade him and play Gorman everyday
Ewwww, gross!
The proper move for Gorman is to move him to AAA so he can play everyday. He's horrible and won't get better getting his butt kicked everyday in the bigs. His regression is not unfamiliar. It's like watching Dylan Carlson all over again, albeit different skillsets.

How would Gorman playing 3RD be the better option? I say keep him. He's almost untradeable anyway with the no trade clause and his poor hitting of late. He's looked really good defensively this year anyway.

As long as the Cardinals are still in the race. And as long as he bats sixth in the lineup.
Is there anything you get right?
