Hopefully they don't wait until Gorman is untradeable also. If we have Arenado for 2 more seasons, he WILL be the 3B. If we hang on to Donovan, Gorman, Sagesse, Winn, and Wetherholt during that time as well, that will get really stagnant. Gorman and Sagesse will lose playing time and trade value while their service clocks continue to run. Some of the trades at the deadline will be more about roster/asset management than being a "buyer" or a "seller".
I personally, would prefer to see Arenado AND Gorman traded. To trade Arenado though, the Cardinals are going to have to eat more money than they ever imagined.

His defense does not warrant his salary nor offset his lame batting.

I would love to dump him
Plus he's not a leader
That's Matt Carpenter's job

Arenado's large contract and .674 OPS are what make him near untradable.

Career long follower.
As he has openly admitted.

Even if Gorman flops you have Donovan for 3B and hopefully JJ(fingers crossed) for 2B.

It's reaching the point that, even if the Cards are contening for a WC spot, I'd rather see Gorman at 3rd with KNado as a late-inning replacement. Of course, he'll cry and throw a tantrum and demand a trade, and because he's so worthless, the Cards will get next to nothing for him, but watching him is like watching the anti-Cardinal.

He's pathetic. OPS+ for the season is probably an 89 after today.

I've never hated watching a "superstar" more than I despise watching this toolbag.

The Cardinals do not have a single elite bat in the lineup outside of Donovan.
But Donovan does not possess a big-time damage threat.
Mootbaar is a pedestrian role player.
Scott is more of disruptor than a damage bat.
Herrera had a hot stretch but is 5 for his last 33 with just 1 XBH (which is far more in line with his career power output).
Burleson is solid but tends to run hot and cold.
Winn has been good overall once he got going.
Contreras is their best established bat and the only one that pitchers would be compelled to work around in a key situation - yet even he is not having one of his best seasons.
Several interesting players, certainly.
But not enough damage potential.
So, like it or not, the organization needs more - and that means they must give every opportunity for Gorman and Walker to evolve and reach full potential.
The worst fitting position player piece on the entire roster therefore, in this perfect analysis of the current state of affairs, is N/A.
It is imperative that he be traded (again) by the Cardinals, regardless of how much salary must be eaten.
Remember, the Astros are not the only team with whom STL had a deal in place to move N/A.
There was one in place with the Yankees as well - but DeWitt would not eat the money New York required.
Foolish, foolish mistake by Super Slo Mo and DeWitt.
They cannot repeat that stupidity in the coming 8 weeks.

Your repeated futile attempts to spread the myth that Arenado was traded are embarrassing, even for you.
A trade requires that the player be traded. Simple.
If there’s a no-trade clause or ANY other impediment to the ultimate movement of the player, it’s not a trade.
So quit with the constant attempts to say he was traded.

Melville is correct about Nado being traded. The Rockies traded him to the Cardinals years ago.

Have to disagree with you on this one. First, we are in the race, but are we really. Do you think we can really compete with the top tier teams? I don’t. I’m enjoying to team play this year but have to think beyond this year and build a World Series winning team.

Secondly NA is not worth his pay. Great glove but bat has lost a lot.

Third he is taking a spot a younger player could be playing. This is a weak point in my argument because I don’t know who that player is at this point. It’s not Gorman in my opinion.

Finally I don’t like Arenado selfish attitude. Is he a leader? I don’t think so.

I would trade him in a minute.

I don't even think his D is that great anymore. Makes some nice highlight plays when he's at home, but has always--and worse these days--been prone to making boneheaded mistakes at the most costly times.

Plus, now that it's clear on he's on the downward swing and, at this pace, will likely be out of MLB in 2 years, it won't even be a "trade."

More like a salaray dump for some lower-tier prospects to someone in desperate need for a 3rd baseman willing to take a flyer on him. If he went to a true contender and kept doing what he's doing here, he'd be DFA'd within a month.

Albert declined quick but he at least still gave production. Albert's 2013-2018 would have been a perfect #5-6 hitter.

Nado's not far off of being replacement level. F'n pathetic.

The Cardinals can't move him fast enough. I appreciate him as a player, but if there's a suitor and an agreement from NA, then trade him for nothing.
