I remember going to the baseball games back in the old Bush Stadium as a kid and watching Bob Gibson pitch. I have been a fan from then to now. But I stopped watching and paying attention years ago when I felt the owners really stopped putting heart and soul into the team and just wanted to get older players they could pay for less or get a player who was decent but wouldn't demand big money...they seemed to always come in second just to make it look like they were going after big time players. They seemed to sorta just want to get by and look to the fans as if they really are trying to be competitive when they really wasnt at all. I kinda got excited by the winning streak they had earlier in the season. This team team has a few good players. They need new owners but that aint an option. I guess once hes done with Baseball village, he will put heart and soul into the team. To have the history we have with the Cards, there is no way we should be this bad. Some one said earlier in this thread Moe destroyed this team...well he didnt do it by his self. The owners helped him. For crying out loud, the owners wont even get a real coach! I hope while im still on this earth, I get to see Cards in the WS again. I love my Cardinals.
How old are ya?

I get it but, Walker is no outfield General.
Correct.
He should have taken charge.
And realized his mistake too late.

That catch by Hampson is why he shouldn’t even be on the team! A good player would have deferred to Walker there to at least make a play at home plate.
That is an indictment of The Marmot and the staff.
Neither outfielder had any interest in even attempting a throw.
What game are you watching? Walker was set up to throw and Hampson called him off. Wainwright was all over it.
Yea Mel being clueless walker wanted it you could tell he was upset he was called off and was talking to Hampson about it afterward
That play doesnt sway the game guys. They are both horrible.
Of course not but they should be trying to improve on every play the rest of the way instead of mailing the game in. There are at least 10 guys who have donned the Cards uniform this year who should have no future in the organization going forward.

1000% Mel on the ScottWalker catch attempts although Scott made a competitive effort.
If Scott has to go on the IL does Church get the call up?
He's wrong on the Scott attempt. Scott tracked that all the way and made a great attempt to catch it and barely missed. He had to get momentum going to jump at the wall. I'll take that over Bader just watching the ball sail over his head.
The ball went UNDER his glove.
Fantastic sprint speed to get there.
And then misjudged the ball.

Oh, I think Walker was all, primed to make the throw, but Hampson called him off. If you watch the replay Walker is waving Hampson off, but Hampson wouldn’t relent, and then soft tossed it to 2nd base. Afterwards Walker was upset!
"Afterwards Walker was upset."
Yep.
He realized his mistake too late.
His ball.
His throw.
And he didn't.
That is a lack of paying attention.
Uh, Mel, don’t you think Walker has been TOLD to relent to the CF’er on catch’s? Walker was calling for the catch and Hampson over ruled him! Try watching the replay!

He is awfully passive for a kid his age.
Not very aggressive - and that could be a problem long term.

The coaching of this team is absolutely atrocious.
2 outfielders - and neither one was aware of the right decision.

He yielded because he was called off he can’t run him over to try to catch it hampson was already under it the only way Jordan could have caught it is if he runs him over then the catch doesn’t even get made
