I guess some folks don’t mind dragging themselves into the sewer. Might want to take a good long shower when you decide to come out.
If only you were nearly half as entertaining to others as you are to yourself, if only. But, since you're not, go [fork] yourself you creepy old man.
Another totally classless post. You just seem to go lower and lower into the muck. Typical anonymous forum faux tough guy.
Hey, I came down to you, thanks for admitting it. Shove your sanctimony.
Eat what, AEP? Get yourself out of the gutter, and let maturation help in future years.
A dick - you read it several replies ago. No maturing for you, guess you're doomed.
I haven't heard an expression like that since I was on the playground during junior high school. Grow up little boy.
I got a chuckle out of it
This place has sure gone downhill. Eh, Adam2? Never used to see this kind of garbage on here.
I'm probably the wrong one to ask, i've only been in the forum for a few years and it's always been this way in my tenure
My CardsTalk addiction started with the infamous "Our Season Is Over" thread - at that point I just lurked. There was some active moderation, doing something to try to keep this place as Pollyanna as cranny would like. They would break out the ban-hammer for profanity back then, but that hasn't been the case for more than a decade.
cranny's lamentations while somewhat based in fact, are little more than "good ol' days" romanticizing.
Nothing wrong with that, AEP.
Yes there is. Romanticizing isn't based in reality - it's delusional. Nothing wrong with being delusional? Tell that to your shrink.

I like Saggese. But he's probably a utility guy on a serious team. In Johnny bow ties Mozeliak's world, he's a starter!
Good luck next year, Thomas. Hope you find the weight room!

For your edification, romanticize: deal with or describe in an idealized or unrealistic fashion;
make (something) seem better or more appealing than it really is.
It's attempting to create an alternate reality. In your case, with regard to this forum, it is a self-serving attempt to create an alternate reality.

You are incapable of being objective - you've said as much here, on multiple occasions. "I just like to look at the positives." And even that isn't objective, as your bias is inherently involved in what you see as positives, like our earlier discussion, in this thread, about a player hitting 10% below league average and you bragging about it.

Sorry, AEP, but there are some on here that objectively comment on both the good moves the Cardinals have made, as well as some of the bad moves. I'm one of those posters. Just the way it is.

Prior to Javier, his many on here were around when Don Blasingame was at 2nd base for the Cardinals. I sure was.. he replaced Red and was quite good. I am going back to 1958 .
He was excellent bunter I remember plus good speed. Fielded well too. Anyone else remember him back then ?

I remember him from my baseball card days, but I only started following in 1960. I think he was gone by then, but I remember he was a Mississippi boy and had all the qualities you mentioned. Little small and not much pop, but he could field.

The summer I turned 12, and really started paying attention to the Cardinals, I listened to every game with Harry, Joe, and Jack, so yes I remember him. He came through my home town that fall and I received my first player autograph.

I would add Terry Pendleton to your 3B list as well as Tom Herr to the 2B list.
