Said he's 6'4" and 203 now. Gained 5 lbs this offseason. Working on his speed and skating as well and uses the reverse hit to create space.
He has the same skating coach as Carbo. Said Carbo is a one of a kind and has worked hard this offseason.
Played with Lawrence at u18's and said he's a bulldog, good passer and has a good shot and high motor and is easy to play with.
I hate that me (and others) are going to play the "what's he done compared to Ethan Belchetz?" game with him.

So long as he finds a productive role on the team I won't, but if Belchetz is a 30 goal Tkachuk power forward I'll always be PO'd.
This has a simple solution: Just don't. I'm happy to announce I'm hate-free in this regard. I don't slather over someone else's draft picks, what's the point? I've never pined for Tolvanen. Kostin became what HE became, and Dagenais will become what HE becomes. Blog chatter goes off in many directions, just can't take it too seriously.

Depends on which Dagenais we’re talking about.
Good Dagenais- definitely has some Tkachuk in him(more Walt than the brothers)
Bad Dagenais-Zach Sanford

I was hoping for a Brady Tkachuk-light, a Tom Wilson type, a better Kiefer Sherwood, who could put up +60 points, put up +200 Hits, abuse defenseman physically create space and tip in pucks, protect our skill guys, and pummel anyone on the opposing Top 6.

Whether his name is Ethan Belchetz or Maddox Dagenais, I just want the results. A plus for Dagenais is his dad was in the NHL. I liked his interview at the draft. Seems like a good dude. I’m good with Maddog
I think we’re going to have to start calling him The Hound instead of Mad Dog.
We’ve got some weird GOT/LOTR voodoo starting here and he needs to get with the program.
Hound Dag?

Might be a little too Elvis.
On the other hand, that might be a good goal song for him at some point.

Early season Dagenais absolutely looked like Sanford. He was just kind of "there"; not contributing much, not going full speed and definitely not throwing his weight around.
Now, part/most of that might have been injury related(we'll see next year). But early season he was very much on my "do not draft" list with Ryan Roobroeck because of the lack of effort I was seeing. It was Sanford level bad and I'm still not 100% convinced that his second half was the "real" Dagenais. I'd be content with something in the middle, but he absolutely exploded in the 2nd half and I'm not sure that's really sustainable.

Game to game consistency is far and away the biggest concern with Dagenais. He needs to put a full season together from an effort standpoint and he absolutely can't take half the season off like he did this past year. It's a major, major red flag if he does and it will likely land him in the same category as Dominik Bokk.
