You name the Blues players that are the CORE PLAYERS CAPABLE OF CARRYING THEM TO A CUP.
I'll name the fake CORE PLAYERS that are therefore overpaid for the Blues.
Kyrou is gone now, but we still have Buchnevich, Parayko, McTavish, Fowler, and Suter. None of them will ever put their name on the Cup, and yet they are our highest-paid players.
So you create a list of core players that includes our best RD and none of our top line players or our top LD? You have two guys on that list in Fowler and Suter that might see bottom pair and 4th line center duty as core players?
If Lawrence is rated in top 5 on a redraft in 5 years, isn't that a good thing that we got a top 5 talent out of this draft? Not sure he'll do it, but it's not in the realm of impossible either.

I have more than a hunch the Blues picked a winner with Lawrence. Would not surprise me to see him up here very young, perhaps 2 years time pending his situation at BU. This acceleration is pretty much what he has done in the past and what he wants to do now, as I see it.

I have been trollish myself, at times. But at least my views - which I might have, admittedly, kept even more restrained- were shared by many of our more critical and principled fans… and thankfully and ultimately, by the Blues Management as well.
Right now, I don’t see anyone or anything that seems likely to grind my gears, but hell, the new season hasn’t even started yet.

he was 17 when he jumped to college and he got him at 11. Imagine if he didnt jump a year early he would be top 3 IMO
IMO if he stayed in the USHL he probably would have been top 5 (as IMO he probably would have been higher than Caleb on most boards), but the move to BU mid-season impacted his stock (great for us)...
It will be interesting to watch what happens at BU next season, as both he and Caleb will be on the same squad...
this kid turns 18 in Aug, it would be hard to judge his growth next year in college, hes still a really young guy playing vs 20, 21, 22 year olds

Agreed, and he still has some maturing body issues to deal with. He still has much of his "boy" body yet to fill out, so it may be another year before he truly hits his stride.

I agree. I liked him before the pick, as I posted many times, but I liked him even more now after deep diving wastin hours watchin vids and readin articles on em. If his offense starts popping this year, then I’ll realllllllllyyyyy be stoked at what we may have.
