World Cup is a farce this year - between Trump, Infantini, the expanded field, I almost have no interest. I don't think anyone would compare Olympic soccer to World Cup soccer, if they do, its a disingenuous argument. That being said, acting like KC got a world cup game for a reason other than location and that there's an existing stadium, is off base.

KC got several World Cup games because Clark Hunt made it a priority to honor his late father.
