Olympic soccer coming to St. Louis
Energizer Park will be hosting some group and knockout matches for the 2028 Summer Olympics. Nice get for the venue. Hopefully CITY SC staff can use the event to scout some talent for the MLS squad.

This is awesome. I shudder to think what the tickets will cost.

They have the World Cup.
Comparing the World Cup to Olympic soccer is like comparing college soccer to CYC. Olympic men's soccer is a sad joke.

Yep, they have an old outdoor American Football Stadium that the Chiefs are trying to abandon. Thank you for that inputBalotelliMassive wrote: ↑06 Feb 2026 09:55 amThey have the World Cup.

Good point - why watch the best the world has to offer surrounded by 70k fans when you can watch under 22 rejects surrounded by 18k?BleedingBleu wrote: ↑06 Feb 2026 10:18 amYep, they have an old outdoor American Football Stadium that the Chiefs are trying to abandon. Take that KC! In your face brah!
Re: Olympic soccer coming to St. Louis
World Cup is a farce this year - between Trump, Infantini, the expanded field, I almost have no interest. I don't think anyone would compare Olympic soccer to World Cup soccer, if they do, its a disingenuous argument. That being said, acting like KC got a world cup game for a reason other than location and that there's an existing stadium, is off base.

It will be amusing watching Kansas City, KS try and fork out $6B to fund the Hunts stadium next to a speedway. I’m sure that’ll go great.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑06 Feb 2026 10:42 amGood point - why watch the best the world has to offer surrounded by 70k fans when you can watch under 22 rejects surrounded by 18k?BleedingBleu wrote: ↑06 Feb 2026 10:18 amYep, they have an old outdoor American Football Stadium that the Chiefs are trying to abandon. CITY has a world class soccer specific stadium, validated by this announcement. Sad you’re too insecure to take a joke. I’ll be laughing when they tear down Arrowhead and Missouri rids itself of the NFL for good.
St Louis will still have the Cardinals, the Blues, and CITY SC. KCMO will struggle to keep the lackluster Royals. You’ll still be a sad, dislocated troll. We’ll be fine.

I don't care about football, Missouri, KC....whatever you can think of.
They have World Cup soccer and we do not - I'll be there or in Chicago for the cup - it's the best soccer experience possible.

Chicago doesn’t have any World Cup games.
