Well top guys in the game are implying they aren’t…saying asking price is too high. Gotta remember he’s a number 2 on many, many teams.

There are a lot of concerns for teams and it doesn’t smell good.

Why don’t the Blues want to build around Thomas Walter? Is this where you say you don’t know?
Quinn Hughes trade speculation started April 2025, he was traded December 2025.. was the NHL not salivating over him?

Is Thomas still on the team? So the Blues are still building around him. The asking price shows you how much the Blues value him.

Laughing...
Quinn Hughes lol. Is Quinn Hughes a number 2 on many, many teams? Have any cup coaches stated Quinn doesn’t care about his team and doesn’t earn his money?
Which coach said that about Thomas ? Missed that one. Dreger didn't mention that.

Well…there was only one cup Coach who coached him n the NHL. How could a Blues fan miss that? Was talked about for a very long time…Thomas even addressed it publicly

Really when? I don't see it. Can you give a link? Edit. You are referring to Berube criticizing team and its leaders about not putting out the effort on 23. Just googled.

The whole thing with Thomas "potentially" being available is simply Army going "yeah sure he's available if you want to give me your young potential #1 center, a top 4 dman, one of your top 3 prospects, and a few first round draft picks"

It's the equivalent of telling 20 year old me that Kathy Ireland is single and "just wants a regular guy"

At this point in his career (and Dreger's point) is that Thomas has not panned out to what the Blues expected he would be. He certainly along with kyrou are not playing to their contract value . But that does not mean he wouldn't fetch a ton on the trade market just given the demand for center on the market. Most gms will be focusing on the latter half of last season. Dumb to move him unless his replacement (current or potential) is coming back.

I don't see any reason why Army would actually make him available based on 42 games of below his quality of play, that would be beyond idiotic.

Yes I can see him taking phone calls and not having him labeled as "untouchable" but he's about as untouchable as a player can be without being labeled as such.

Thomas and Kyrou are guys on #2 line on a good team. Not guys to " build around. " Not leaders. Pretty well known in the league. Contract terms will start to look better as the year starts to roll off.

More about the asking return than how the contracts will age. Similar to Tarasenko … nobody wanted to overpay for him either…so he was stuck in stl

“According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the St. Louis Blues are looking to make trades, but the issue they are facing is the lack of trade partners.”

Must be frustrating for everyone involved
