In his rookie season, 22-23, he was teammates with Fabbri, Sunny, and Suter!

At ~1:50 of this video (rookie season highlights), you can hear the announcer call Suter's name:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uj4Ka9dZuas

It appears he was on a line with Suter early on in the season. Berggren-Veleno-Suter - some PP time as well.
@5:40 of the video, he assists Sunny on a goal.

Very dynamic player, especially with the puck. He's making plays in all areas and backchecking in this highlight video, so it can happen. I'm wondering what's gone wrong with this guy to be waived? Injury he never recovered from?

"Good heart, good battle, good play defensively....his play in his own zone is just getting better and better every game. This is a guy who the Wings have basically made room for to keep on the roster, rightly so" - Detroit's color guy

@9:30 he assists Fabbri with a nice one on the PP (I think Sunny is also out there)

Just saw him out there with Perron as well... Do it Army! :D

Ok...so I'm digging deeper.

Looks like he played with Broberg and Robertsson in the SHL in 19-20/20-21 and with Broberg on Team Sweden.

He's got skill (and the type we lack), will be familiar in the locker room, and was free. Can't say I hate it.

Jakob Vrana parallels are remarkable.

That was a great highlight reel you discovered. So Herggren should be # 52 for us. He reminds me of the way Dvorsky plays from those clips.
So yes-- what are we looking at....injury prone? Streaky only? He certainly shows signs of a lot of hockey sense..which we are missing.
He and Fabbri possibly sit together on a 3rd line once the main players recover from their injuries. Only 25 and played 75 games last season, drafted 33 overall. Fabbri looking good and aybe Berggren will surprise everyone. So he was waived to go back to the AHL so considerd a fringe player who may improve. I like this. Jakob Vrana parallel..could be but maybe not. Now if we could only wrestle Perron back from Detroit. Wuldn;t it be funny if this kid scores over 20 goals or becomes the next Shanahan? We can only dream

I hopefully that the Fabbri and Berggren pick ups work out better than say Vrana. It definitely always us to move Schenn and another forward.

Say when everyone is healthy

Buch, Thomas, Snuggy
Neighbors, Devo, Kyrou
Fabrri, Suter, Berggren
Torpo, BJUSTAD, Joseph
Sunny, Walker

Maybe Breggren and Fabbri have chemistry from their time in Detroit?

I am thinking a line with

Fabbri, Devo, Breggren might be decent

Army has used Offer Sheets to bring in young prospects better than we have. (Holloway, Broberg)

Army has used Trades to find a young defensive prospect better than we have. (Mailloux)

Isn't it amazing how good GM moves can can look when your roster sucks? Army finds talent because he must. He can't find any on his own via the NHL draft.

Now with Berggren, will Army do it a 3rd way? Will he find one of the team's best player off waivers?

Before you applaud Army, please consider that the players may be be the best on our team, but they were all NON-STARTERS on other rosters. With each move, Army is covering up his mistakes, not building a Stanley Cup roster.

Both Broberg and Holloway were impact Regulars in the Oilers lineup for the SC Playoffs two years ago. And they are good on our team too. They would not be here were it not for an excellent move by the General Manager. A fair amount of our drafted players have made it into the league and compete very well given the draft positions from which they were picked.

Are you saying Mailloux is better than the defensive prospects we have?

If so, then we are in much bigger trouble than I thought.

You’re such a redundant transparent frown clown. I bet it chafes your Vajazzle that Mailloux has started showing promise and has been playin well for weeks now. AMIRITE, or AMIRITE.
