People who understand baseball conversation and Cardinal history understand that people used to want to come here, and now they don't. Others make comments like yours.

Yea we're rebuilding. People with no trade clauses don't go to teams that are rebuilding. You have a weird fascination with Mo so much so that you have to constantly troll to keep bringing him up.
What?

weird, uneducated post. this from someone who did not like Mo's last 10 years. Why would a veteran in his prime want to come to a clearly re-building organization? be better.
And why is this a”clearly rebuilding organization”…..we’ll wait around while the caboose catches up….

BINGO

Hopefully that had a lot to do w/Mo (and likely Oli who was listed at the bottom of MLB Managers a players survey said they wanted to play for, yet another reason he must be gone after 2026).
Mo is the top reason this organization is where its currently at. He idiotically drove the franchise from annual contenders to under .500. Hes the reason they need a rebuild.

As for oli, that's on Mo for hiring him. Marmol is so insignificant that one player in the managerial poll couldn't even remember his name. 8O

You honestly think Kete Martel l was the answer to put us into the world series? I would bet big bucks Mr. Mo could have got him if that was the truth. He was great and this is garbage.
Just the other day you railed against the current state of the team. Now you’re all “Mr. Mo” and how great he was? Do you not see a correlation between the current state and the guy who made all the decisions? He was successful during his early years, which happened to coincide with Mr. TLR’s tenure.

I will also be critical if Bloom doesn’t make any effort to field a competitive team and just takes the tank strategy, which rarely ever works anyway. He’s only been in charge for a few months though so too soon to tell. If he doesn’t get the same payroll support from ownership then it still won’t be a fair comparison. In that case, I think your argument would be with ownership instead of management.

As far as fan support goes…winning always fixes that. Except for the poor Rays. They just need to move.
I sincerely and respect your comment, at least you you are humble enough to talk some sense and be human.

So really, what do you all think is possible and want?
Fixing the pitching is doable and can make even a mediocre hitting team competitive.

I thought the rumors of a deal centered around Noah Cameron for Donovan seemed reasonable, and with JJ waiting in the wings it trades from strength to address a weakness.

We might not get a full season from Dustin May but it might buy enough time for one of those pitching prospects we’ve been collecting to actually EARN their way into a spot, which is ideal. I’d keep JoJo too and add another good BP arm.

That doesn’t leave much improvement with the offense, unless JJ outperforms Donovans typical year. They really need a solid RHH OFer. It’s long overdue and if they have to overpay in free agency, so be it. That’s the cost of bumbling player development. And with all the payroll reduction, there’s no reason they can’t afford it, even if they go big like the Kyle Tucker sweepstakes. Not saying that should be the move, or that he would even come to STL, but anything is better than being cheap or putting all their hopes in Jordan Walker.

Bottom line, fix the pitching first, because it is within reach now.

We can only hope C. Bloom is following BDWJr's orders to keep Oli in 2026 because he's 1) under contract and 2) Dewitt see's it as a re-build season..........but then he's canned at seasons end and Bloom brings in a real Manager.

The only two that kind of make sense on the list are the Pirates and the Athletics.

Us, the Giants, and the Yankees don't make a lot of sense. Those are 3 of the most desired fan bases to play for. Sure NY can be tough, but if you do what he does, he'd be beloved there.

Other than doing a good job with the bullpen I've always asked, "What does Oli do in game to make the team better"?

The answer is nothing.

And just this past season he did a really poor job not managing NADO, Noot and Donny's obvious injury situations, allowing them to stay in the lineup when they were obviously compromised.

TLR benched S. Rolen, a future Hall of Famer, when Scotty was injury compromised and fought Tony like he ll to stay in the lineup.

Oli doesn't have that ability, always giving in to veterans who want to play even when not at their best to the detriment of the team.

He's just not a good Manager.

Tries to be "buddy-buddy" w/the players IMO.

Oli is either not smart enough or was given orders not to deviate from the game plan crafted BEFORE the game started. As we all know games are won by managerial gut decisions made from WATCHING THE GAME. He seems incapable of doing that
