As I said, Dominguez (who is really just a LH hitter), would not be near enough.rockondlouie wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 08:45 am Googled his injury history:
Jasson Dominguez has dealt with significant injuries, most notably a torn UCL requiring Tommy John surgery in late 2023, sidelining him for most of 2024, followed by a left oblique strain in June 2024, and a minor thumb contusion in June 2025, but he's generally shown quick returns from these setbacks, showing his resilience.
Going into his age 23 season w/FIVE YEARS of control!
Switch hitter who can play anywhere in the OF.
C. Lagrange 6'7" /#2 Yankees prospect also going into his age 23 season, power pitcher (LOVE this theme from C. Bloom!).
This trade would be a slam dunk for the Cardinals since this is exactly the type of UPSIDE talent w/five-six years of control we want.
But like the OP said, Likely (nonsense).
First mel, you don't know anymore about this kid than the rest of us non-Yankee followers other than what you see on BR.Melville wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 08:53 amAs I said, Dominguez (who is really just a LH hitter), would not be near enough.rockondlouie wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 08:45 am Googled his injury history:

Nor would he offer anything the team does not already have.
At best, he would replace Mootbaar if both Lars and Donovan are traded this off-season.
Adding Lagrange would be a different matter however.
That would be a sold package.
That said, the team urgently needs to add a RH outfield bat.
I would much prefer going after Pages and a pitcher with the Dodgers.
One, Dominguez has been on the prospect radar for quite some time now and many fans have been familiar with him for some time.rockondlouie wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 08:58 amFirst mel, you don't know anymore about this kid than the rest of us non-Yankee followers other than what you see on BR.Melville wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 08:53 amAs I said, Dominguez (who is really just a LH hitter), would not be near enough.rockondlouie wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 08:45 am Googled his injury history:

I listed his injuries, he's NOT another Noot.
Second, he's going into his age 23 season meaning he's got plenty of time to develop which is exactly what the Cardinals need........players with five-six years of control and upside.
Third, We're in agreement on Lagrange and (IMO) he's the coo in this deal w/Dominguez just a bonus.
Finally I'll take any bat that can hit, not really as hung up on the "lefty" thing given Bloom likely deal lefty hitting Donny, Noot and possibly even Gorman.
(I suggested going after A. Pages mid season 2025, I'd love to land him but not sure the Dodgers will deal him UNLESS they land K. Tucker)
One-Two-Three we just disagree.Melville wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 09:12 amOne, Dominguez has been on the prospect radar for quite some time now and many fans have been familiar with him for some time.rockondlouie wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 08:58 amFirst mel, you don't know anymore about this kid than the rest of us non-Yankee followers other than what you see on BR.Melville wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 08:53 amAs I said, Dominguez (who is really just a LH hitter), would not be near enough.rockondlouie wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 08:45 am Googled his injury history:

Two, he is primarily a LH bat and is not the best option for an organization over-loaded from that side.
Three, yes, so fa, he is very, very similar to Mootbaar.
Four, we agree that Lagrange would be the better foit of the two.
Five, we agree that Pages would be the better play - but while I am sure LA has some interest in Tucker, Donovan and Mootbaar would certainly get LA's attention.
LA may indeed have interest in Tucker - and maybe not.rockondlouie wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 09:49 amOne-Two-Three we just disagree.Melville wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 09:12 amOne, Dominguez has been on the prospect radar for quite some time now and many fans have been familiar with him for some time.rockondlouie wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 08:58 amFirst mel, you don't know anymore about this kid than the rest of us non-Yankee followers other than what you see on BR.Melville wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 08:53 amAs I said, Dominguez (who is really just a LH hitter), would not be near enough.rockondlouie wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 08:45 am Googled his injury history:

Agreed on the Dodgers but won't make a move until Tucker situation is resolved.
100% they're in on Tucker, whether they land him or not we'll see.Melville wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 13:38 pmLA may indeed have interest in Tucker - and maybe not.rockondlouie wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 09:49 amOne-Two-Three we just disagree.Melville wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 09:12 amOne, Dominguez has been on the prospect radar for quite some time now and many fans have been familiar with him for some time.rockondlouie wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 08:58 amFirst mel, you don't know anymore about this kid than the rest of us non-Yankee followers other than what you see on BR.Melville wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 08:53 amAs I said, Dominguez (who is really just a LH hitter), would not be near enough.rockondlouie wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 08:45 am Googled his injury history:

But what is known is that they are in good shape at middle infield but very thin in 2026 in the outfield.
Meaning they can move Edman to CF if they were to move Pages.
Adding Donovan and Mootbaar would give them more depth and more flexibility for the next couple of years - and at a fraction of the cost of Tucker.
Of course, if STL were to trade both Donovan and Mootbaar for Pages, STL would need another piece in return - perhaps a young pitching prospect from A ball who is a few years away.

2026 Age: 23. Upside Role: 50 (Solid-average LF). Risk: Average. Adjusted: 40.
Dominguez hits the ball hard, runs well and performed as a league-average major league hitter at age 22. It’s not clear exactly how much upside he possesses, but he appears to be sturdy as at least a solid-average hitter who provides baserunning value. Defense is another matter. Dominguez’s reviews and metrics in left field are poor, making him perhaps a DH-in-waiting. (ME)
https://www.baseballamerica.com/players ... -lagrange/The Future: Lagrange split his season between High-A and Double-A and should spend most of 2026 at Triple-A. There, he will be tested by the automated ball-strike system and its smaller strike zone. He’s likely to continue being developed as a starter, but scouts nearly universally believe his home is in the bullpen. In a reliever’s role, Lagrange has the kind of stuff that make him a dominant force in the late innings and potentially a high-end closer.
