One, Dominguez has been on the prospect radar for quite some time now and many fans have been familiar with him for some time.
Two, he is primarily a LH bat and is not the best option for an organization over-loaded from that side.
Three, yes, so fa, he is very, very similar to Mootbaar.
Four, we agree that Lagrange would be the better foit of the two.
Five, we agree that Pages would be the better play - but while I am sure LA has some interest in Tucker, Donovan and Mootbaar would certainly get LA's attention.

LA may indeed have interest in Tucker - and maybe not.
But what is known is that they are in good shape at middle infield but very thin in 2026 in the outfield.
Meaning they can move Edman to CF if they were to move Pages.
Adding Donovan and Mootbaar would give them more depth and more flexibility for the next couple of years - and at a fraction of the cost of Tucker.
Of course, if STL were to trade both Donovan and Mootbaar for Pages, STL would need another piece in return - perhaps a young pitching prospect from A ball who is a few years away.

Jasson Dominguez, OF, Yankees

2026 Age: 23. Upside Role: 50 (Solid-average LF). Risk: Average. Adjusted: 40.

Dominguez hits the ball hard, runs well and performed as a league-average major league hitter at age 22. It’s not clear exactly how much upside he possesses, but he appears to be sturdy as at least a solid-average hitter who provides baserunning value. Defense is another matter. Dominguez’s reviews and metrics in left field are poor, making him perhaps a DH-in-waiting. (ME)

The Future: Lagrange split his season between High-A and Double-A and should spend most of 2026 at Triple-A. There, he will be tested by the automated ball-strike system and its smaller strike zone. He’s likely to continue being developed as a starter, but scouts nearly universally believe his home is in the bullpen. In a reliever’s role, Lagrange has the kind of stuff that make him a dominant force in the late innings and potentially a high-end closer.
