I'm glad Hofer is playing better but he's really only had 2 decent games so far this whole season. Anointing him a #1 because of 2 decent games after all those bad ones is ridiculous. He's had way more horrible games so far this season than he's had good ones. He's also still making absolutely terrible plays with the puck. That will show it's ugly head again soon. He dangerous with the puck and still hasn't worked that out yet.

He's 100% playing better than Binnington right now and that can't be debated its a fact.

His puck play will result in a bad goal against no doubt but it also prevents more goals than it costs him otherwise he'd be forced to stop doing it. The Blues have two goalies that can negate a team's forecheck but it does occasionally make for a bad look. Should Hofer rein it in a bit and not take the huge risks.. probably.

He needs to get the majority of the starts until 50 turns his game around or his play cools off.

Hofer was beyond terrible to start the season which are skewing his over stats and no one can say he's had anything but a disappointing season in totality but he has turned it around and its not really a super small sample size of games that he's done it in.

The best thing that could happen to the Blues is Binnington stars for Canada in the Olympics, and then Army suckers some desperate team to give up a future or current 1st. Unfortunately what’s most likely to happen is: Binnington does Ok in the Olympics and Army tells everyone that reports of Binnington’s demise were premature, says the Blues have no interest in trading him, and he proceeds to suck the rest of the season.

I’d take Binnington any day in a game 7 or pressure packed situation, problem is he isnt good enough alot of the time to get em to the playoffs so he can shine. Its a shame he doesn’t think every game is the end of his career, then I think he’d play elite fulltime. He just seems to get bored or distracted easily.

Despite my criticism, I still think he deserves a statue someday, cause when he’s on, he’s on.

I'm not going to get into which goalie is playing better right now. Backstopping this team is mostly a combination of luck and the Hockey Gods. The rest of the team aren't playing well enough to help Hoff or Binny. And then folks have to ask themselves which one is best so we can get a better return if we trade our best one.

My “Officially” declaring Hofer as #1 wasn’t exactly official. Just saying with the Binnington trade rumors abounding, Hofer played like a #1 goalie. A bit of hyperbole perhaps but the word fan is short for fanatic. Ultimately, it’s Hofer’s fault for forcing me into a fanatical declaration.

Binner is better and Bolduc has no place on this team, especially after this season.
Bolduc is tremendously overated by some people on this forum.
