6pts in his last 8GP +1, Buch is pretty far down my list of irritating Blues issues

Full NTC I'm not sure who wants him unless the Blues a) convince him to go but the team likes.him b) maybe eat a bunch of salary but why?
I'd focus more on moving Binnie and Schenn which actually solves real issues

I'd love to move him (and Schenn); hate them both.

I was in favor of moving Buch a while back but now that he's contributing the team is winning. He's not a "put the team on my back" kind of guy but when he's contributing they have been successful. I wish he would get back to the level he played at his first year here. He was a beast for a minute but that big contract tamed him. I'd like him to get back to his hungry game again.

Who has bigger hearts than those two on this roster? There might be a few whose are as big, but none bigger.

I don't think heart when I think Buchnevich. I think of a confused dum-dum (that makes $8m)- it actually makes me angry...and even the guy with the biggest heart (Perron) got kicked to the curb (multiple times) by this organization.

Schenn to a contender sounds too good; fingers crossed for this TDL. start anew; Thomas' team.

callitwhatyouwant wrote: 06 Dec 2025 11:19 am Buchy has more worth to STL than he does as trade. It's just that simple. If the contract ages horribly it ages horribly. No one is taking it on right now. He would have to go on an epic tear to get people interested. Thomas and Kyrou? Well you can still sell the maybe I can fix this scenario to another team.

The only guys of value for trade that can be thought about trading for the Blues are Binner (to a team with 0 goalie) Schenn (for 3rd line equivalency to a cup contender) Kyrou and Thomas ( to someone who might want a reclamation project) and Parayko and Faulk and then this team can't function even as a tanking team.

The last thing you want to do to your young guys who are here is make them play impossible hockey. That is how losing rot sets in. If the Blues go full nuclear and trade away their defense, they have 0 guys who can step in and even make it appear like AHL hockey. That is a recipe for disaster. So that leaves me to believe the only trade pieces you have are Kyrou/Thomas/Binner/Schenn. 2 of which aren't going to bring you back much.
Good post, but I want to expand. I think, as you said, would have to go on an epic terror right to the playoff deadline. Also, he would have to account to GM's that his lack of production was an anomaly due to playing hurt and not disclosing. Finally, he may have to find a new dynamic for his game, such as becoming more physical. He's got to find a way to stick around.
he has 6 points in his last 8.
Was it the game winning assist that was the even strength deflection from Buch to Neighbours last night?
It was a heads-up purposeful and beautiful feed for Neighbours to redirect.

Buchy streaking again. 7 points in 9 games. officially back as a points producer. hopefully it holds for like a 20-30 game span.

I just don't know who comes calling. He would have to up it to PPG to get someone to take on that length I think. If this was 4 years left in the contract, 70 percent PPG would be good. It's still too much of a roulette table proposition

No one will call. He will continue to be on the team's good side until the TDL, after which he will revert to streakless Buchnevich.

Rags will want him; they realize they haven't been the same since he left.

Buch is a horrible contract. You would have to give up a second rounded (maybe a first) for someone to take him.
