"But what if Bloom actually likes Oli."Ronnie Dobbs wrote: ↑27 Nov 2025 09:00 am I've been saying this all offseason. Everyone keeps complaining that Oli hasn't been fired immediately and think that they're only keeping him because they are cheap and don't want to pay him for doing nothing next year, as if they haven't done that in the past or didn't just now pay $20 million to trade a guy.
But what if Bloom actually likes Oli. The players all seem to. I've heard for years how cheap DeWitt is and how Mo is so awful that he ruined a perennial World Series caliber franchise. If that's true, why would anyone expect Oli to succeed in such an awful regime? Maybe Bloom would like to see how it goes next year, and if it's working, then they extend him.
It doesn't seem crazy at all to me.

The Marmot is a weak, obedient member of the STL rodent community, perfectly willing to remain prey for superior predators at the expense of living a minimalist existence for as long as he can survive.Strummer Jones wrote: ↑27 Nov 2025 09:15 am I hate this.
Because now I have to read and hear a bunch of simpletons shout to the hills that the manager is the problem with this deeply, deeply flawed team for the past four years.

The one thing this board has taught me is it doesn’t matter who the manager is, unless his name is Terry Francona this board will feel the manager is terrible.
Marmol does not have final say who is on the roster.Melville wrote: ↑27 Nov 2025 09:33 amThe Marmot is a weak, obedient member of the STL rodent community, perfectly willing to remain prey for superior predators at the expense of living a minimalist existence for as long as he can survive.Strummer Jones wrote: ↑27 Nov 2025 09:15 am I hate this.

Who gave Mikolas 31 starts?
The Marmot.
Who obediently denied starts to McGreevy until it will too late and irrelevant, even though he was the far superior option?
The Marmot.
Who refused to bench N/A simply because of his contract, wasting yet another season of giving opportunities to younger, better players?
The Marmot.
Who continued to play Lars The Human-Sushi-baar and repeat the propaganda that he was "a long term core player" at the direction of Super Slo Mo - even though it had been obvious for years that the outfielder was no such thing and never would be?
The Marmot.
Who made the laughably inept decision to begin the season with Herrera as the anointed starting catcher - even though Ivan has never displayed even the most basic competency at the position and had been rejected by the pitching staff?
The Marmot.
On and on and on the list could go.
Oliver Marmol has badly mismanaged the roster simply because he is too weak, too much of a yes man for the front office, too interested in being liked rather than respected by players.
We can fairly debate the quality of the roster he has had to work with each year.
But he consistently gets less from it than he should.
Basically my thoughts as well.Idaho Cards wrote: ↑27 Nov 2025 09:42 am My experience is that most people are not as good as they seem, or as bad as they seem. They're probably somewhere in the middle. There are some solid baseball people in the organization who obviously see OM as an asset. I think a litmus test will be how he handles spring training with such a young roster.
Yep. Very annoying.Strummer Jones wrote: ↑27 Nov 2025 09:15 am I hate this.

Marmol said as diplomatically as he could that he wanted to put in McGreevy for Fedde.
Consistently gets less than he should from the roster!? A roster that includes Miles Mikolas, Garret Hampson, Erick Fedde, and Andre Pallante?
Melville, if you weren't consistently enjoying the smell of your own farts on here, I would absolutely think you were joking.
One, that line-up was cruising pretty good for the first third of the season. Two, that line-up got absolutely exposed because there is no linchpin hitter on that team. And that is on Mozeliak.Goldfan wrote: ↑27 Nov 2025 09:43 amIf he’s pulling a SP at 5innings while the P is cruising….Strummer Jones wrote: ↑27 Nov 2025 09:15 am I hate this.

If he leaves a SP in while getting hammered to a point where game is over…..
Stupid lineups until 1/3 of season is over and then he figures it out…..
Show Me you’re not really this stupid Oli
