I wish we had a competent run organization

He's not a free agent

He’s signed by the Blue Jays through next season. They’d have to make a trade for him and if he’s such a good player, why would Toronto trade him away? He’s a little better than Noot, pass.

Besides, Varsho has a LOW floor. You don't pay guys like this unless you're already a contender.
We’ve been rebuilding for 3 seasons without any improvements
That's not true at all. We signed Sonny Gray, Lance Lynn and Kyle Gibson 2 years ago. 3 years ago it was Contreras. Those same years we had Goldy, Arenado.

We've only been rebuilding for 1 season.

The other 2 we were just floundering around piecing together a not-quite competitive roster - continuing to spend money at the same time.

More like a half season....71 games, 271 PAs. Very hard pass on that.

I think DV is a blue jay for 2026. He is the type of player that bloom will avoid—marginally better than league average. The only players of that caliber we will have much interest in are pitchers.

The man's name is Dalton which is the coolest name ever. That would be the only reason to even remotely consider acquiring him. Pass.
