There is way too many knuckleheads on here that the only team sport they've ever played was a Sunday afternoon whiffle ball game with the family. They have no clue about this "culture" thing or winning attitudes. So you're wasting your time trying to explain it to them ozziesfan41.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑11 Oct 2025 15:31 pmYea you said in advance that bringing pujols back with waino and Molina was toxic culture and showed the team couldn’t win then the toxic culture team went out and won the division and could have advanced if it wasn’t for oli being a bonehead in the post season and the cardinals haven’t won since they broke up the toxic culture. The toxic culture with Molina went to the post season 13 times in 19 seasons the toxic culture of Molina and pujols together made it to the post season 9 of 13 seasons and won two World Series. So if toxic culture wins the division like in 2022 bringsMelville wrote: ↑11 Oct 2025 14:38 pmRespectfully disagree.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑11 Oct 2025 14:27 pmWhy? The last time the cardinals won anything was when they were here. Arenado said the last couple of seasons
The team came to the park hoping good things to happen instead of expecting good things to happen meaning the last time the team had a winning attitude was when those two were on the team providing their leadership.
Keep in mind, as many here can attest, I said IN ADVANCE that the goodwill legacy farewell reunion tour was toxic to the franchise and that it plainly communicated to every single person throughout the entire organization that winning was neither prioritized nor expected.
I said in advance that it was proof of my long-held assertion (which I was first to identify, understand, and explain) that the Cardinals were not a baseball team with a marketing department but was instead a marketing company with a baseball department.
The trainwreck that created over the past several seasons was inevitable - precisely as I said it would be.
Fact is, turning to past icons is the very worst thing this organization could do.
The toxic culture cannot be cleansed by using contaminants.
That level of success bring that toxic culture back. That toxic culture nonsense another of your nonsense ramblings that is clearly wrong yet you double down on being wrong

Gutsy move….tossing that reality out there so haphazardly…AZ_Cardsfan wrote: ↑12 Oct 2025 09:06 amSometimes the reason they expected good to happen was because of the talent those players brought to the table. Managing eliminates that talent and the team has to expect performance from who IS playing. I remember Musial managing. He wasn't great." Some other greats who managed and didn't do so well include:Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑11 Oct 2025 19:05 pmBut their leadership and ability to create a winning team culture doesn’t. Larussa did it Albert and Molina did it players said it all the time arenado confirmed it when he said the last couple of seasons the team came to the park hoping good things happen instead of expecting them to happen meaning the winning culture was gone when Molina and Albert left and their presence certainly has never been creating a toxic cultureAZ_Cardsfan wrote: ↑11 Oct 2025 18:56 pmHaving them as managers/coaches isnt' the same as players.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑11 Oct 2025 14:27 pmWhy? Ted Williams: The Hall of Fame outfielder Ted Williams, a legend, was a terrible manager. He was known for his poor management skills.
Rogers Hornsby: The Hall of Fame second baseman Rogers Hornsby, a legend, was a terrible manager. He was known for his difficult personality.
Frank Robinson: The Hall of Fame outfielder Frank Robinson, a legend, was a terrible manager. He was known for his mixed results.
Ryne Sandberg: The Hall of Fame second baseman Ryne Sandberg, a legend, was a terrible manager. He was known for his minor league struggles.
Pete Rose: The Hall of Fame player Pete Rose, a legend, was a terrible manager. He was known for his player-manager role.
Yogi Berra: The Hall of Fame catcher Yogi Berra, etc
There is no assurance either (Pujols or Molina) will be good managers or that with the same talent on the team anything will turn around.
Note I am not AGAINST hiring either as manager I'm just of the opinion unless there is improvement in the talent they manage both will get similar results.
