Gosh, I hope we don't lose any more games this year.

I'm not cheering for LM to fail or anything but he was objectively horrid by all metrics last night. He was not alone but that does not change it.
Number two, it was ONE game and PLENTY of people sucked for real.
Number 3, being game one, being 8 games played, some of his supporters will fire back with the imaptience of the multitudes so get used to that too.
If you are going to work it one way, there's a second way that needs to be heard as well.

Were you this harsh to Bolduc last year when he was awful for 20 games, not 1?MiamiLaw wrote: ↑10 Oct 2025 15:05 pmWhy can't we discuss the team? We can only talk about positive things? I definitely said he wasn’t showing much. But he didn’t have any game I can remember where he didn’t look nhl caliber, even if he had plenty where he looked unremarkable2forDiving wrote: ↑10 Oct 2025 18:12 pmWere you this harsh to Bolduc last year when he was awful for 20 games, not 1?MiamiLaw wrote: ↑10 Oct 2025 15:05 pmWhy can't we discuss the team? I wouldn't worry about the rookie who's still getting used to his surroundings I'd be more worried about the multi million dollar forwards who couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat.
Re: Mailloux sucked last night
It should be concerning though that a team that can’t score traded a proven scorer for that rookie…11WSChamps wrote: ↑11 Oct 2025 11:08 am I wouldn't worry about the rookie who's still getting used to his surroundings I'd be more worried about the multi million dollar forwards who couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat.

Certainly not enough to start a thread about it in a 5-0 loss.MiamiLaw wrote: ↑11 Oct 2025 11:35 amIt should be concerning though that a team that can’t score traded a proven scorer for that rookie…11WSChamps wrote: ↑11 Oct 2025 11:08 am I wouldn't worry about the rookie who's still getting used to his surroundings I'd be more worried about the multi million dollar forwards who couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat.

This trade looks awful thus far. Not because mailloux is some failure, but bolduc is going to be a consistent 30 goal scorer, you can just see it in the way he shoots the puck and his tenacity. I don't think it'll ever get to a point that blues fans think we came out on the better end of this trade. It'll be talked about like the arozorena trade the cards made.

How would you have paid Bolduc 5-6 million after this season? Simple question.MizTruBlueLuvzU wrote: ↑12 Oct 2025 09:44 am This trade looks awful thus far. Bolduc was a 3rd line wing on this team and you can’t pay him 6 million a year and afford to pay Holloway and Broberg too. The cap isn’t going up THAT much.

Get a life.
Better not lose track of time, your shift at MacDonalds starts at noon.

We also have no idea if our ownership group is going to keep wanting to spend close to the cap as it goes up.Bubble4427 wrote: ↑12 Oct 2025 10:16 amHow would you have paid Bolduc 5-6 million after this season? Re: Mailloux sucked last night
So if we extrapolate this out how many 30+ goal scorers are the Blues going to pay? So if Bolduc scores 30 this year whats his AAV on his contract next year? The trade came down essentially to Snuggerud vs Bolduc. Blues chose to keep Snuggerud and Neighbours over Bolduc. The Blues arent going to be able to keep all of their prospects that they are developing there are only so many spots.MizTruBlueLuvzU wrote: ↑12 Oct 2025 09:44 am This trade looks awful thus far. Snuggerud ('27)
Neighbours ('27)
Holloway ('26)
You can debate whether the Blues should have traded Snuggerud or Neighbours and kept Bolduc but there is simply no way Id trade Neighbours right now hes a stud, team leader perhaps future captain. The Blues like Snuggerud over Bolduc, Snuggy looked pretty good vs the Jets, Bolduc...not so much. Time will tell and yes its going to take Mailloux time to develop in the NHL, pretty hard to judge a guy based on 10 NHL games. Recall after Bolduc's first 50 or so NHL games he did virtually nothing at all until Monty arrived. Bolduc did almost nothing in the AHL in 50 ish games. Let the process pan out

The whole Bally’s thing is an issue moving forward. Where are the Blues going to make up the lost revenue with a dwindling television contract with bankrupt Bally’s…..
Petro is gone…move on
Bolduc is gone……move on.
Some people aren’t happy unless they are bitchin’ about something I guess.

Since they scored 4 last night are we good now on this trade?
Can't believe you are out there with some of these comments one game in.

Bolduc looked LOST a whole lot the first month of the season, not, the first game of the season, but the whole first month.
He had his raw skills and, for the casual observer, he might have even seemed like “ he wasn’t showing much”…
He was LOST in the transition game.
Lost.
So bad that he got benched… a lot.
The benching seemed to work and on more than one occasion, later in the season I remarked that Bolduc was the poster child for struggling rookies using their time in the press box well.
When a rookie forward is lost, it only fouls up your chances for a decent Rush, and results in a stupid turnover, usually.
When a rookie D man makes a mistake, to quote Mr. Plante,” They turn on a red light and 15,000 people stand up and yell at you”.
