OK, name 25 better teams.
Penn State may very well still be a top 25 team, but when you lose 2 with one being an 0-4 UCLA team that is struggling in general, you won’t be ranked. Not even Penn State gets the benefit of that doubt. They should be eliminated from the Playoff picture.
I still think Texas is a top 25 team. Probably not playoff good, but still good.

Yep. Agreed. Texas at least played a close game vs. the current No. 1 on the road. That counts for something, though the Horns have 0 P4 wins. And neither does Penn State. Losing to an 0-4 team for a 3-2 record when ranked in the Top 10 deserves a booting.

I'm so thrilled Texas lost I haven't come around to think where they should be ranked.
Made my bye weekend, it did.
Eff them.
So uppity and thought they had the football world by the tail with Arch at QB. And that OLine was like a row of 5 turnstiles. No run game. No pass protection. Screw them always. Penn State, too. Cowards who have yet to beat a P4 team. Losing to UCLA was just too funny and sweet. Franklin has 2 wins over Top 10 teams since 2016 -- against Utah and Boise State. Hope both miss the CFP. Likely will.

I'll start with Mizzou.
In what world should a Mizzou fan worry about any two loss teams on Oct 5th?
we will find out more after the Alabama game. Mizzou MUST win this game. No ways around this
There is no such thing as a must win game for an undefeated SEC team on October 11th, because there are so many ways to get around a loss in the final 6-7 weeks of the season
Mizzou moved up to #14 (from #19). This week’s foe, Alabama, is #8 (from #10) and last I looked, a 5.5 point favorite at Faurot Field.
Florida State is the only ranked two loss team coming in at #25.
Notre Dame. They'll stay ranked unless/until they lose 4
I don’t have a problem with Notre Dame ranking as they are a solid team, but just happened to front load their first two games against teams who are now ranked 2 and 5. They lost both games by a point so they are competitive with the elite teams in the league.
In an ideal world they would need a signature win to make the playoffs, but with nobody on their schedule left who are ranked in the top 50, they may sneak in the back door.

If ND beats USC handily and wins the rest of their games, they will be in the playoffs.
Likely true, but unfortunate since they do not face the pressure of playing in a conference.
If the proposed rules in the 1980s would have passed, as they should have, the flippin irish would be Division III@
I like the fact that they are not in a conference which allows them to schedule whoever they want. They do have to play a few ACC opponents but other than that they can play whoever they want. Most of these conferences are now way too big and have gotten way out of hand in terms of how many teams are in them. Not being married to any particular conference is a good thing for Notre Dame and makes them a ton of money.
paawwlll and several other talking heads have called PSU's loss the Worst loss of any top program, ever and you can't hardly disagree. UCLA had not had even a LEAD in any of their previous games even the cupcakes. Then Nico suddenly goes off on them with new OC and HC and destroys the vaunted highly rated D of the lions? priceless.
never liked Franklin while at PSU and sark is one of the most over rated over hyped HC's in CFB. he failed pretty much every big job he had and had to go to coaches rehab under saban for couple years to get his bona fides back. being HC at Tejas with it's unbelievable resources and supposed to be such a great playcaller yet he couldn't get his team to score a TD from a yard out last playoffs and CHOKED ON IT AGAIN>
Love how kharma bit them in the butt and his hubris was exposed. they lost a ton of great players to NFL and didn't replace many of the parts and yet were so over hyped yet I didn't see it. Arch was supposed to be all that and yet in HS he played a a low level. yes he had the name and the hype but not shows he is human as Sark did NOT REPLACE all those NFL linemen that left. Now arch is under pressure most of the time and that's no bueno for a young guy still learning his craft.
