Rocky Mountain High

Back home where he should've been sent by BDWJr years ago.

I feel for the Rockies if he is hired.

So he says. Hahaha. I bet POBOs and GMs are shaking in fear. I hope Mo gets the band back together in Colorado. Johnny and the puds! Girsh as GM, oli as dugout doofus, Dusty running the pitching staff. That'd be a real comedy. The fans would need a Rocky Mountain High to watch that nonsense.
they would be caught between a Rocky Mt High and a hard place . Fans would be jumping off the mountain tops .
Maybe Stan Kroenke can buy the Rockies and hire Mo. That'd create a true rivalry.
That would be the dream. He already owns the Nuggets and Avs. And Monfort is an even worse owner than BDW, by a lot.
I could actually see Mozeliak being hired by MLB. He and Manfred would probably get along well

So would Oli. Any chance Oli takes one of these open jobs? He knows he’s a lame duck going into 2026.
1. Marmol is under contract thru 2026. He can’t just “take one of these open jobs”.
2. Nobody would hire him anyway, what has he proven except that he can’t seem to get his players to stop being brain-dead on the field?
College coaches leave all the time when they are under contract. Oli could figure out a way I'm sure. Would it require a trade of a manager, like with Joe Maddon?
Who cares what college coaches do?

Marmol is under contract.

If they can him they will still have to pay him thru end of 2026. If he takes another gig after being fired the Cardinals are off the hook for his pay.

Do you really believe that Marmol would be in demand if the Cardinals fired him now?

I don’t.

Personally I’d love to see him gone but it certainly is not his decision to make.

And when did Joe Maddon get traded?

Perfect job. There is no expectation of winning there. Perfect for him.

I believe the Cardinals led the league in defense this year…I would also argue that it would be difficult to imagine a scenario where the bullpen could have been managed any better. Base running needs shored up but batting issues are more on the players talent level than on field management.

My fiancée is from Boulder. Says Fairview is the hoity-toity high school in town. The "don't you know who my dad is!?" high school. She says it checks out.

Why would a team ”need” a left handed batting practice pitcher?
Some teams do. Why not offer batters the most and best looks you can for practice? You might not gain much but an edge is an edge.

I don’t disagree with your bullpen point.

But these outfielder’s frequently throw to the wrong base which doesn’t reflect in fielding %.

And hitting approach by most is horrible.

And the baserunning is bad. Never seen more station-to-station running, partly because half these guys can’t tell whether or not a ball’s going to be caught until it hits the ground.

I was just reading some Rockies columnist on a Rockies site (think Redbird Rants type) pushing for Mo and broke out laughing when he suggested Mo would bring along Yadi as his Manager! ::crazya::

Guy obviously knows nothing.

Likely. I sense a lot of shorts that are too short, scarves, and bowties.

Teams need both a LHP look and a RHP look for batting practice.

Sorry, it was Guillen not Maddon. In 2011.

Though it did involve the same city and state Maddon managed in. White Sox to Marlins.
