I believe the Cardinals led the league in defense this year…I would also argue that it would be difficult to imagine a scenario where the bullpen could have been managed any better. Base running needs shored up but batting issues are more on the players talent level than on field management.

Some teams do. Why not offer batters the most and best looks you can for practice? You might not gain much but an edge is an edge.Why would a team ”need” a left handed batting practice pitcher?

Marmol is under contract.
If they can him they will still have to pay him thru end of 2026. If he takes another gig after being fired the Cardinals are off the hook for his pay.
Do you really believe that Marmol would be in demand if the Cardinals fired him now?
