Remember when Lance Berkman was with the Astros and used to kill us in that stadium? When he hit lefthanded, he would use that inside-out swing and slice homers into that short left field porch. I forgave him, however, during our epic World Series Game 6! Fat Elvis the Big Puma was the epitome of a “Professional Hitter”.BrockFloodMaris wrote: ↑28 Sep 2025 03:08 amA dead-pull RH hitter like Nado would love 81 games aiming for the Crawford boxes. The retractable roof and A/C inside Minute Maid Park is a nice setting through the summer. Plus, the crowds are somewhat bigger in Houston than STL, and the owner seems committed to winning.Hazelwood72 wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 22:54 pmCorrect. Minute Maid Park is a lovely park for home runs except for straightaway center field. Left field Crawford Boxes are a joke and right field power alley isn’t very far either. Any hitter will generally do better playing half his games there.Melville wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 22:49 pmProbably not.
But his offensive (and offensive) numbers would doubtless have been better with 82 games played in Houston.
Looks like Nado made the right call on rejecting Houston

Yep, fun times! HOU vs. STL was a great rivalry.Hazelwood72 wrote: ↑28 Sep 2025 09:09 amRemember when Lance Berkman was with the Astros and used to kill us in that stadium? So you're saying that Arenado is not good enough that he would have had them in a better position for the playoffs? Well now you know why I don't want him

They had a lot of injuries to key players, but that is quite the collapse they just had. Cleveland changed everything by playing out of their minds for a month.
Re: Looks like Nado made the right call on rejecting Houston
You are ignoring opportunity cost. The difference is Nado would probably displace Isaac Paredes in Houston's lineup. And that replacement doesn't make Houston enough better to win the division. If much at all. Parades is a 2.3 WAR playerForumPolice wrote: ↑28 Sep 2025 10:46 amSo you're saying that Arenado is not good enough that he would have had them in a better position for the playoffs? In STL, he displaces Gorman, who is a negative WAR player at 3b. I've never said Arenado is the ideal 3B for our team. He's just the best option we have Until Bill is willing to acquire a REAL replacement that can approach his 2021/2022 production, which is the right move that needs to happen.
