Looks like Nado made the right call on rejecting Houston
They will likely miss the playoffs. And even if they did somehow reach them they would get the "worthless" 3rd wildcard spot that the Cards Talk fans would never want our own team to settle for.
Meanwhile 83 wins could mean the playoffs in the NL. Oh well.

I'm not worried about the Astros continuing to put out good teams. The Paredes deal worked and he'll be back next year. Now Y. Alvarez has had real bad luck with health. He's almost not dependable at this point.

Not me amigo…
Some years they win….this year they are losing..
but they play every year….

Well…they were good most of the year.
If I’m Nolan, I’m thinking my presence could’ve put them over the top.

Not unless he could be a number three starter, middle reliever , and closer…
I don’t like to dwell on injuries….sounds like excuse making..
But the pitching staff was decimated by long term injuries…….but…that’s the breaks..

That’s why I don’t have much reaction to any season……Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 20:23 pmYea every team does play
winning can be short lived, and losing is always followed by another opportunity…

Unless you are in the Premier League and get relegated. Nice incentive to not lose too much.45s wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 20:27 pmThat’s why I don’t have much reaction to any season……Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 20:23 pmYea every team does play

Correct. Minute Maid Park is a lovely park for home runs except for straightaway center field. Left field Crawford Boxes are a joke and right field power alley isn’t very far either. Any hitter will generally do better playing half his games there.Melville wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 22:49 pmProbably not.
But his offensive (and offensive) numbers would doubtless have been better with 82 games played in Houston.

Doesn't like making excuses after making excuses.45s wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 20:18 pmNot unless he could be a number three starter, middle reliever , and closer…

A dead-pull RH hitter like Nado would love 81 games aiming for the Crawford boxes. The retractable roof and A/C inside Minute Maid Park is a nice setting through the summer. Plus, the crowds are somewhat bigger in Houston than STL, and the owner seems committed to winning.Hazelwood72 wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 22:54 pmCorrect.
