Re: Is Gorman in Witness Protection
The more plate appearances he has had the lower his trade value falls because he sucks that and he crashed and exploded spectacularly on his runway this season I mean what more do they need to see he can’t field or hit

Ding ding ! Other teams already have his value determined . That won’t change these final games .. the showcasing is to show teams his shoulder is good to make his throws from 3rd both strength and accuracy. He has shown that especially in thr Brewer series.Basil Shabazz wrote: ↑26 Sep 2025 08:51 am This has zero to do w/ Gorman.
It is about showcasing Nado. Trying to prove Nado has trade value to potential offseason suitors.
A good playoff team could play a younger better hitter who is so so defensively for 5 1/2 innings. Then insert Nado for the final 3 innings to preserve a lead with his leather.

No team carries a backup third baseman only for his glove. He would need to learn shortstop and second base If he's going to be a utility guy.ramfandan wrote: ↑26 Sep 2025 13:52 pmDing ding ! Re: Is Gorman in Witness Protection
Gorman will get some reprieve with Arenado likely moving on.
He also could benefit if Donovan is needed in LF.
He’s Arb eligible in 2026 but he won’t make squat based on his 2025 season.
2026 will be interesting one way or the other.
Pitching( especially the rotation) will be the biggest key I think.
As for the position players?
Lots of lineup combinations.

+1 and no one is going to pay a late inning defensive specialist what arenado is and Gorman isn’t even a much better hitter than arenadoicon wrote: ↑26 Sep 2025 14:33 pmNo team carries a backup third baseman only for his glove. Obviously correct.icon wrote: ↑26 Sep 2025 09:29 amYeah, Gorman should have played in SF of all places. Short RF HR porch. And Arenado is yesteryear's news.

Come on. If the Cards had to hand out today's game ball it would have been all Gorman's.

As is his arm.
Several dying ducks from 3B to 1B in SF.
The glove still works - but everything else is gone.
