I mean, how can you have 2 guys in your lineup all the time with a less than .600 OBPS? Don’t care what WAR says, it just doesn’t make sense. You replace those 2 with some league average bats with a tad bit of pop and this team makes it into the playoffs.
If they had had a power hitting right fielder, they could have lived with Scott's defense in CF. But they still needed better starting pitching. I was really hoping Walker would be the guy, but he wasn't along with they lack of power from Gorman.

Which is exactly what would've happened with this starting rotation. Even if you had Henry Aaron out in right field.

The problem includes them, but is broader than them. You can't have a lineup with them that also includes Pages, Gorman, and in most cases Nootbaar. That is over half the lineup where very little is happening. Or, 60% of a starting rotation made up of Fedde, Mikolas, and Pallante. And yet in spite of all of this, they are only eliminated from the playoffs with 3 games left in the season. Improvement at the margins from any or all of these guys would be big.
Well said.

This team missed the WC because:

1. Bad starting pitching.
2. Too many offensive holes.
3. Too many low effort, brain dead games.
4. DeWitt and Mozeliak's half-[ashed] re-set.

3A. Too many brain dead games due to brain dead iPad Oli and a farm system that no longer teaches intelligent baseball.

Wholeheartedly agree. Too often this team seemed uninspired and lackluster. Usually on weekend day games. Hhmmm...... :?

Yeah, Juan, I’ve been calling for Mozo’s head ever since around 2016 or 17. We had a brief respite when Mike Shildt brought back intelligent, aggressive baseball, and I let up on Mozo for a while. But then, what really urinated me off was when Mozo fired Shildt, then named Siri iPad Marmot as manager. After seeing the deterioration in our basic baseball fundamentals, I have been totally down on this front office ever since. The organization is a total wreck right now.

Mo couldn't handle Shildt. When he publicly pushed for roster improvements and challenged the Jeff Albert experiment, Mo fired him. And replaced him with a kiss-(donkey) pud.
