Neither, Miles is gone, Noot probably gone, Arenado ask him it's his decision. If Arenado will waive his NTC, then he's gone. I'd say there is a 75% chance either Noot or Arenado are still here.renostl wrote: ↑19 Sep 2025 22:04 pmWhich has the highest possibility.HorseTrader wrote: ↑19 Sep 2025 20:10 pm Can't disagree with any of that. Noot could be pretty good player. I just don't think he's able to stay serious long enough to reach his potential.
Arenado, I had high hopes with him and Goldy on the team. I just never worked. Blame it on Mo and his decisions.
All 3 gone

Al 3 back?

Re: 3 players playing their final home games with Cardinals
This era kind of reminds me of when the Astros started their rebuild. They had some players on expiring contracts leaving and a lot of promising players that never panned out:
Brett Wallace, Justin Maxwell, Chris Carter, Jason Castro, JR Towles. Those guys played A LOT, but ultimately contributed to multiple sorry teams. During that whole time, Jose Altuve was there and one of the lone bright spots in the organization.
Then, Springer, Correa & Bregman all came up within 2 years and the team was immediately awesome.
They still had their share of duds, such as Preston Tucker and Jake Marisnick, but they also starting adding some good FAs such as Josh Reddick and Gerritt Cole.
The Cardinals seem to be sort of in the same transitional period that the Astros were going through in the early 2010s.

In a 1 or 2 game series it can be entirely about the pitching. That’s why you need a best of 7 to give the bats a chance to not face a pitcher that has our teams number.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑19 Sep 2025 21:37 pmGame 1Carp4Cy wrote: ↑19 Sep 2025 20:50 pmSSS. The fact that the Cardinals never made it to a seven game series largely due Oli’s bullpen management prevented those two from getting a real chance over an extended periodscoutyjones2 wrote: ↑19 Sep 2025 20:13 pmGoldy and Nado were nowhere to be seen in the playoffsHorseTrader wrote: ↑19 Sep 2025 20:10 pm Can't disagree with any of that. Cards had a 2-0 score heading into the top of the 9th, where Helsley got the loss with Phillies scoring 6...4 of Helsley
Game 2
Cards score 0 runs in 9 innings, and lose 2-0
Bats failed
I still think we would have won game 3 and the bats could have showed up If Oli hadn’t blown game 1 with Helsley.

The playoffs are ALWAYS a SSS.
That's why David Eckstein 2006 or David Freese 2011 can be the MVP.

Re: 3 players playing their final home games with Cardinals
The fact that they are trying Gorman at all the infield positions seems like they are trying to figure out where he could fit for next year. Or it could be a "showcase," but I don't see why playing a few games at 1B and 3B would enamor another team.redbirdfan51 wrote: ↑19 Sep 2025 20:43 pm Gorman's future in STL may depend on whether or not Nado returns next season and if the Cards decide if JJ starts at 3B next season.

if he goes, I'd have mixed feelings about that.
if he goes, Bloom better get a good return.

Re: 3 players playing their final home games with Cardinals
The thing Bloom is mulling over is that Donovan has two more years before reaching free agency . After not signing Donovan to a multi- year deal a year ago , it appears he is going year to year . After that final year, he will be 30 years old . Highly doubt Bloom would sign him then to a multi-year deal (or if Donnie would accept it ) . So if only with Cardinals for 2 more years and the rebuild is taking longer , then what is the point in keeping him . That is what Bloom must decide . Get something now or very little later unless you want to sign him long term now but it doesn't look that is the long term plan .82birds wrote: ↑20 Sep 2025 17:17 pmyou think Donnie is gone?rockondlouie wrote: ↑20 Sep 2025 09:52 am I count seven gone or in AAA in 2026:

I don’t think Nootbaar even realized he made a base running blunder in the 10th.HorseTrader wrote: ↑19 Sep 2025 20:10 pm Can't disagree with any of that. Miles is toast, he needs to consider retiring.

According to Josh Jacobs predictions , he lists Arenado , Nootbaar, and Mikolas.
Note' There are others but 3 in the above article
should be a list of 5-8 and nado, noot, and miles being first 3-4 on list

If you want the best return, then Donny is the guy you deal.
