What I expect
Arenado traded. Cards eat half or more of contract
Gray is traded for a SP or RH OF bat
Contreras is traded for a SP or RH OF bat
Donovan extended 4/60
Nootbar trade for RP
Roster
1B Burleson
2B Wetherholt
SS Winn
3B Gorman
LF Donovan
CF Scott
RF Walker
C Pages
DH Hererra
Bench
Church, Crooks, Segesse, RH bat from above
SP
Pitcher from above
Libertore
McGreevy
Matthews
Pallante
Payroll approx 80m depending on contracts acquired.
Attendance 1.2-1.5m
All the players you want to trade, except Nootbar, have no trade clauses. Since Nado, Gray and Cotrares refused trades last winter, don't see why they would change now, unless money is in the package.
Nootbar is a possibility though.
I agree that the rebuild is in it's early stages and the team won't be competitive in 26 and possibly 27.
Buster Olney recently reported the Cardinals timeline is likely 3-5 years and those players will be told that and given the option this off season. He expects them all tho be gone to contenders.
I hope Buster is right. And maybe one or two of those players can be persuaded to move on, but I'd be shocked if all three players were all dealt. Contreras maybe, but the Cards will have to pay to unload Nado, and Gray likes our location close to his home. Getting rid of either will be a heavy lift, IMO.

So using Olney's projection it would be 2028 thru 2030 for the rebuild to be in full Bloom !

Too late for max return on Donavon. That was at deadline. I beleive they decided he is their core player. Nootbar has little to no value but will be moved for a RP

He’s a fan favorite. That’s a moveable contract and keeps from having no veteran depth. They need a leader somewhere and will not pay for a star.
You lost me at “fan favorite “
This fan favorite business is one of the reasons they are in this mess..
He was an all star this season. Has carried the team statistically all season and would have tenure once Arenado is gone. So you want the most seasons player to be WInn at 3 years? A veteran has to be on the roster. The other option is keep Contreras
I don’t think Contreras is traded. Probably not Gray either. Other than that I think you’re pretty spot on.
Well then Burleson or Hererra need to go because of DH issue. That spot needs to be flexible. Not to mention the 40 man. I was clearing 4 40 man spots because they need to clear 6 players minimum to avoid loosing them in the rule 5 draft. Buster Olney recently reported he feels trading those 3 is top priority for Bloom
I’d be for it if he could, I just don’t see it. I do think more than one left handed bat is moved.
Ok what other 5? They need to add both catchers Matthews Hence Hjeepe and several others to the 40 man or loose them. 6 players need gone from 40 man minimum.
lose

Imo whatever they do in trade will bring back pitching prospects. Arenado has to be gone whatever it takes short of dfa. No clue if Gray and Contreras will agree. I would be surprised if Donovan isn't traded. Noot will be traded. Anyone else that somebody wants to pay decent value in prospects for. Probably not Winn or Herrera. Anyone else. Nothing else makes any sense. 26 and 27 are going to be much like 25 in terms of winning. There's no sense in trading any of these guys for middling major league talent. It won't help. If the existing prospect pool along with whatever is left of the current ML team is good enough, that's when they raise payroll to fill in the gaps. 28 or later.

Agreed with your statement about the 3. Very low probability they get moved but you never know. Maybe one gets moved that’s very unlikely but has a chance.
I think Donny would be the one moved he could help ignite the rebuild. Noot is meh. Would you get much for him?
At this point I could care less about roster construction it’s all about talent acquisition.

We all know they have ntc. I predict that Arenado will be gone whatever that takes. Contreras i give it 90% chance he agrees to some kind of move. Even if that requires a buyout of his ntc. Gray could still be here 1 more year. But it’s not that bad considering our current starting pitching. 2027 is a team option for Gray.

Please go into detail as to how you force a player to leave who has a no trade clause. Have you heard of the player's union?

This is what I expect also. Arenado only has a few that would want him, and some of those he would not accept the trade. Bloom will find it difficult to move him. Contreras is no longer a catcher - which hurts his trade value, and he does not seem to want to leave anyway. Gray is the most likely to go, as you indicate.
Nootbaar and Donovan will probably be dealt, and the return will not be impressive. Donovan will thrive with his new team, but as long as Wetherholt shines as expected, his absence will not be missed terribly. I would also expect Bloom to entertain offers for Gorman, Walker, and Saggese.
I hope that a RH batter with power can be obtained thru trade who either plays OF or 3B, and of course, a starting pitcher who can replace Gray if he departs. Even if Gray stays, a starting pitcher should be targeted.

IMO you miss a real team dilemma. Playing Donovan in the outfield is a total waste of talent. LF needs to go to a big bat. Gorman is a liability at third. Not saying Donovan to third but between him, JJ, Saggese or even Winn you have to solve for third base.
