Depending on the right handed bat, that looks like another 78 to 80 win team

.500 team for $60-$80m awaiting Doyle and farm to advance. That’s what a rebuild year 2 is about. Add another top 10 pick next draft then start spending to add. However My point is it’s still going down. Upward movement maybe by 2028Basil Shabazz wrote: ↑30 Aug 2025 21:48 pm Depending on the right handed bat, that looks like another 78 to 80 win team

He was an all star this season. Has carried the team statistically all season and would have tenure once Arenado is gone. So you want the most seasons player to be WInn at 3 years? A veteran has to be on the roster. The other option is keep Contreras45s wrote: ↑30 Aug 2025 22:03 pmYou lost me at “fan favorite “Youboughtit wrote: ↑30 Aug 2025 22:00 pmHe’s a fan favorite. I don’t think Contreras is traded. Probably not Gray either. Other than that I think you’re pretty spot on.Youboughtit wrote: ↑30 Aug 2025 22:15 pmHe was an all star this season. Well then Burleson or Hererra need to go because of DH issue. That spot needs to be flexible. Not to mention the 40 man. I was clearing 4 40 man spots because they need to clear 6 players minimum to avoid loosing them in the rule 5 draft. Buster Olney recently reported he feels trading those 3 is top priority for BloomJohnnyMO wrote: ↑30 Aug 2025 22:30 pmI don’t think Contreras is traded. Probably not Gray either. Re: Off season overhaul prediction
All the players you want to trade, except Nootbar, have no trade clauses. Since Nado, Gray and Cotrares refused trades last winter, don't see why they would change now, unless money is in the package.Youboughtit wrote: ↑30 Aug 2025 21:19 pm What I expect

Nootbar is a possibility though.
I agree that the rebuild is in it's early stages and the team won't be competitive in 26 and possibly 27.

I’d be for it if he could, I just don’t see it. I do think more than one left handed bat is moved.Youboughtit wrote: ↑30 Aug 2025 22:43 pmWell then Burleson or Hererra need to go because of DH issue. Re: Off season overhaul prediction
Buster Olney recently reported the Cardinals timeline is likely 3-5 years and those players will be told that and given the option this off season. He expects them all tho be gone to contenders.Red Bird Classic wrote: ↑30 Aug 2025 22:46 pmAll the players you want to trade, except Nootbar, have no trade clauses. Ok what other 5? They need to add both catchers Matthews Hence Hjeepe and several others to the 40 man or loose them. 6 players need gone from 40 man minimum.JohnnyMO wrote: ↑30 Aug 2025 22:52 pmI’d be for it if he could, I just don’t see it. Re: Off season overhaul prediction
Im not sure any of the 3 NTC's are moved. Gray the most likely. Arenado will have few if any teams interested. Contreras doesn't seem to want out of StL at all.
I think Donovan and Nootbaar are the most likely to be dealt.
