Abreu

Duran

You (falsely claimed before he even took office) that he was a "younger version of Mo" w/o any facts to back it up since the man hasn't even taken control yet.

Ok so these players were acquired by him 4-6 years ago and how long until they are stars? 2 more years? Are you ready for a 6-8 year rebuild waiting for stars? Until he makes trades to aquire a star he will operate as Mo has for last decade of except 2 gifts that won’t happen again. Not sold on Bloom being a Jockety type. Might be better in charge of farm draft and develop than GM. He tore down the rosters on the only 2 GM roles he had and this season Boston is all he has to show for it.

What have you got against a man who hasn't even taken taken over yet? :?

And you can't simply extrapolate the Red Sox where ownership immediately upon his hire decided to slash payroll, decline to allow him to retain M. Betts and basically tied his hands.

And he didn't "tear down" two rosters.

Dozens of minor league teams around the country sell a ton of tickets without any of those 4 things you listed. It's because it's a cheap and fun way to spend an afternoon or evening.

Imagine if the Cards came out tomorrow and said, "Y'know what, we recognize we haven't provided a great product for our fans the last few years. To make up for it we're going to lower prices 30% for next year." They'd not only sell more tickets for next year, they'd create a lot of good will that might even spill over to the rest of this year.
I have had free tickets available all season and won’t go because there is none I want to see on the roster. Might go to 1 game next year for Wetherholt
So clearly that wouldn't work on you, but you're in a pretty privileged position to have free tickets for any game. It'd work on thousands of other fans.
You can get into the Labor Day game for $20 on StubHub. The Cardinals sent an email out offering 30% off next homestand. How much cheaper does it need to be?

Fair. But I don't think ticket prices are really the problem, especially when compared to other markets. Has it always been cheap to see them play the Cubs on a Friday night? Nope. But they've always had ticket deals midweek, Phillips 66 promotions, etc. I think they're pretty reasonable.

They've been reasonable for decent, competitive teams that are interesting to watch. My point is that once that baseline shatters, you may need to consider other alternatives.

That may be true. I have no idea if people aren’t coming this year because the tickets are too expensive, but I doubt it. A bad value? No argument. Adding 10-15% to the price of season ticket renewals is the most insane business decision on the planet.
