Not much to look forward to next year. This team is not one or two away either.

Re: Are we the dullest team in baseball?
For me it’s not so much the team being dull it’s they don’t have any player who I think I don’t want to miss his at bat or I want to see him even the bad cardinals teams of the late 80s or early 90s had guys like ozzie and Coleman and McGee and Jeffries and Jordan there’s been McGwire and Edmonds and rolen and pujols and Holliday who you want to see even if the team isn’t that good. Even the other bad teams have players the pirates as bad as they are have skenes who I’m sure anytime he pitches is a must watch for their fans, the nationals have wood and Abrams the angels have two 30
Home run hitters already. The cardinals don’t have anyone. Who am I going to say on the team oh can’t miss their at bat? No one for me

There was hope early this year when Herrera briefly appeared to be on the verge of being one of those "can't miss the at bat" guys. But he has flamed out. There is nobody now. 3 hits last night and 4 tonight -- against the Pirates.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑27 Aug 2025 21:04 pm For me it’s not so much the team being dull it’s they don’t have any player who I think I don’t want to miss his at bat or I want to see him even the bad cardinals teams of the late 80s or early 90s had guys like ozzie and Coleman and McGee and Jeffries and Jordan there’s been McGwire and Edmonds and rolen and pujols and Holliday who you want to see even if the team isn’t that good. ain't that the truth ?!Futuregm2 wrote: ↑27 Aug 2025 15:54 pm Haven’t been posting as much lately, a lot going on, but also have lost interest in baseball over the last few weeks.
Anyways.
0 20 HR players
Only 6 players with 10+ HRs
1 player with 10+ SBs
0 SPs with a sub 4.20 ERA
We don’t walk a ton, we don’t strikeout a ton.
We also don’t walk many batters and we don’t strikeout anyone
Every NL Playoff team has multiple 10+ SB players, the Brewers have nearly an entire 9 man lineup with 10+ SBs.
Josh friggin Naylor had more steals with Seattle in his first 12 games than all but 1 Cardinal has this entire season.
There are many ways to show that this franchise is in a sad state.

And after last night no regular with an OPS over .800.

The worst team ever in the history of baseball. Highly unsuccessful the past 2 years.
Should be sold and moved to Montreal.

Better question - Are Cardinal fans the dullest in baseball right now?

Re: Are we the dullest team in baseball?
There's no speed on this team outside of VSII (and please, no one mention M. Winn as he's a terrible base stealer).
There's no power on this team outside of N. Gorman.
There's only one starting pitcher who can give them consistently decent starts and that's S. Gray but only if it's not 100 degrees.
The pen' has been the only real shining unit, they've been very solid.
Oli is the most unimaginative Manager, second only to M. Matheny.
Mo checked out months ago.
The Dewitt's quit on the team before spring training even opened.
Sad season indeed.

Fans will come back when it’s a better team, but they are bored and dull right now.

Come on...who cares that we have a boring, [shirt]ty team. .spend your hard earned money so that DeTwit won't starve!... the arrogance of some fans matches the out of touch Mo-ran

Comparing this team to the 70s cardinals is a perfect comparison. Sadly, the 70s team was the same all decade. Watched them because we were fans, but we were watching guys like Sizemore, Melendez Freed, Kessinger, and Tyson. They did have Brock and Gibson early in the decade, but Not until Hernandez came up in the late 70s was there much at all to look forward to. They were boring, but they knew how to develop talent to give us in the 80s.

I certainly dont think that's a better question. Nobody goes to the game, or watches on tv to see the fans. Like questioning patrons when they stop going to their favorite restaurant because the new menu sucks.

And, other than JJ Wetherholt, what prospect or minor leaguer is anyone excited to see get called up?rockondlouie wrote: ↑28 Aug 2025 08:49 am There's no speed on this team outside of VSII (and please, no one mention M. Winn as he's a terrible base stealer).
